Great job, took guns away from people that abide the law, leaving only the criminals with them. Chicago does the best job possible to make it safe for the average criminal.

Funny. I live in a state (New Hampshire) with the most relaxed gun laws in the country…yet we have the lowest crime and murder rate…it’s a people problem, not a gun problem.

I saw Jessie Jackson buying guns at Chucks Guns in Dolton IL did he turn in his guns since he is Father Pfleger best friend.
  • The problem isn't the guns the problem is the criminals, punish the violent criminals to the full extent of the law every time and you'll start seeing progress but seems that makes to much sense so politicians won't ever do that

I'm not giving up shit 💯 people crazy... I'm a law abiding citizen and protects me and my family at all cost.
  • If you watch WGN on a regular you would think St. Sabina is the only church in the City of Chicago. Pflager must own a lot of shares in Nexstar media to get this much attention.

Crazy..........criminals are breaking the law. Wow, who would've thought they would do that?
  • This does no good, if there is no CONVICTIONS! From the States Attorney’s Office. Chief Judge Timothy Evans , is Also to Blame.?This city needs new leadership Now!

The hearts need a change , a gun is. tool no different than any other tool a gun is good or bad as the man using it..
  • I would like to take part in a gun buy back program. Bring them to me
  • @ShaulDawg
So what happens to them after being confiscated? I'd love to give them a nice home

Elephant in the room - Chicago's black market on guns. Nothing stops until this is market is severely weakened and it's obvious that no one from the Chicago leadership has the power to do anything about it. When Illinois (2019) raised the legal age of buying a firearm to 21 and increased the wait time after purchase to 3 days, nothing changed - if anything that benefited the black market resulting in massive increase in gun crime. Where is the Chicago leadership, the media and the Chicago Police on this? Nowhere, and none of them have the balls to even mention the black market. Instead, we hear about new gun laws (looks good for politicians) that do nothing while innocent people continue to die. Guns are not going away so it's either - black market good for criminals or more gun laws that do nothing or conceal carry license carriers that frighten the criminals.

I wonder how many of the guns recovered are from law abiding citzen who made illegal mistakes. Example: People have FOID and are driving with loaded guns. People with CCL go into no guns allowed or drive with it in the seat. Ask CPD how many gun cases are related to FOID CARDS and CCL CARDS members and had their registered gun on them? I bet he say "No comment". 🤣😂 Know your rights and the Law before you end up apart of this number as guns recovered.

The problem isn’t people having guns or gun owners there’s always gonna be ppl inna world that are gonna do messed up stuff with guns or not
  • Big numbers like 12000 help to justify funding. Every news brief is a campaign for funding.
  • @qbanz00
That’s because police departments have policies that allow officers to claim the best guns as personal property
  • @tugarin2345
I wish I had gun buybacks near me. I’d buy a 3D printer just to print guns and sell them 😂
