Published 2024-06-12
After 4 attempts to get this up because of YT trash copywrite system here it is in all its glory! Episode 4 will focus on my story coming into the fold of the jam band scene as well as my early years being moved an inspired through improvisational music. I really hope you enjoy.

I've always been a music fan, I enjoy most if not all genres, some more than others, but definitely Jazz is high among them, but I never got much of a formal teaching, so I really enjoy and appreciate a deep dive video like this. And as always, the personal touch make it that much more engaging. And I'm so happy your parents supported you with all that 😊 I also REALLY appreciate the small info box with every song so I can look up the stuff I'm missing, I'm actually doing something similar in my other project now. I am - as I believe I mentioned before - am familiar with Dave Matthews Band, but not Phish at least not in a deep enough way. I'm definitely looking up "Phish: A Live One" in particular in the near future, I like this style of improvisation. That 2016 festival sounded like an awesome experience 😃 Not just the music, but the whole journey. And its okay to be locked into a certain band or singer, it happens sometimes, I usually have it happen with single songs where I would keep listening to them over and over for weeks or even months, I remember there was a time years ago when I did it with New Order's Elegia, the full 17 minutes version, I think there was maybe closer to a year where I would listen to that song at least once a day, usually more on loop. It happens and its totally okay 😊 As for Phish, again, I really love what they're doing, and its clearly the type of music you'd really "get" when you're at a live event, from the gags to the jams, its clearly meant to be a full package, just listening to that on record isn't really the full experience, but it is good enough for someone who is a starter like me I guess 😅 And I hope you get to see them again someday, cause this is clearly something special :virtualhug: I'm also not familiar with The Ungrateful Dead, but I like the "sound" based on what I'm hearing in the video, so definitely going to check them out too. As always, you got a fine taste! Also, I know the pain of getting struck by the automated copyright system 🤦 I had gotten struck on videos for like... no joke, 6 seconds! From a song I never even imagined would be copyrighted, and some that should've been "pitched" enough to be seen as different. It could get you into a LOT of trouble and its just not worth it. But that night you mentioned? That sounded magical 🤩 And the night you danced over your phone? That's the beautiful trance, better to flow with it than to fight it, that's what your life's greatest moments are made of, no matter how many people tell you otherwise. This is another video I honestly think deservers thousands of views. Sorry I haven't caught it earlier, and lets hope the algorithm blesses you soon, my friend 😊🙏
