Shout-out to Miltech Simulations for saying their FS20 aircraft will be updated for free for FS24 as soon as it comes out!
  • @clibbbb
The biggest thing that MS2024 needs to be able to spread the workload over all threads of the CPU. It is absolutely insane that the current one only works on 1 or 2 threads of the CPU. It's 2024, let's not use 1998 coding anymore.
  • @FlightSimSchool
I share some of your concerns, but I think it’s too early to jump to any conclusions, at least until there is a lot more detail provided in the monthly dev updates. The trailer showed a lot of nice things as to how they’ll improve immersion, which makes sense since that’s what sells it for 80% of users, but it doesn’t mean the details you mentioned didn’t get implemented for us in the 20%. I imagine it’ll be feasible to install both 2020 and 2024 side by side, so that at least we can have a period where we use both, as things get updated and moved over, which is what I intend on doing. Thanks for the video Blu!

My concern is that MSFS 2024 will be a game rather than a simulator
  • @atdaniel2205
I pray the default atc is somewhat fixed and doesn’t fly you into mountains
  • I'm a real world pilot light single and twins.i use VR for that real experience and the only unrealistic thing for me is the crosswind .You won't get anything as bad as that in the real thing well over the top.
  • @AV8R_1
1:55 Am I the only one who noticed in their trailer this helicopter has the main rotor turning correctly, but the tail rotor is turning backwards?
  • @tubeloobs
Blu, Bluebird was talking about updating their 757 to take advantage of any needed NEW features made available in 2024. For now, the assumption is that all of the planes will work with the old FM in play and third party devs will opt into the new one which doesn't take a lot of work to do.
  • biggest concern is the flight model as it is probably optimized for xbox players on xbox controllers so they can easily do the helicopter pickup missions
  • @seattime4075
Yep, have a big motion platform and when moving from DCS to MSFS to differences in heave are immediately noticeable.
  • @TriJetSimPilot
I’m sticking with 2020 until I see how good it really is, and if my stuff will still work.
  • @pandamisha
I still don't understand the point od releasing 2024. Couldn't they just update 2020? Those who are long enough with this sim remember updates weighing 40GB, 25GB or so, changing a lot of how the sim worked, screwing a lot of addons at a time. Why can't they come out and say"look guys, we gonna release 100GB update, it will be a pain, but this is what you gonna get. The graphics on 2024 is not that mich different to 2020
  • @XxXNyMpHoXxX
Weird how my brother saw me flying on FS2020 and asked if there are things to do like transport or jobs kinda like roadrunner. I told him this new one might be like that. I hope its both a sim and somewhat a game.
  • @heinzpilot
I'm sticking with flight simulator 2020 myself at this point. I have everything set up how I like it and so many add-ons for it I don't want to have to transition into a new product yet that is probably going to be buggy and have issues for some time. I'm also concerned about it being more like a game than an actual simulator.
  • I think the key thing missed in this video was the talk about Marketplace items being moved over right? PMDG for example is on the marketplace so I'd imagine it also move along as normal. Of course we're five months out from an actual release. I think we'll probably get more clarity as we get closer to release.
  • @Bearviation
I expect nothing from 20 to 24 so, therefore, I'll be happy with whatever happens. Maybe it's because I'm old(er) but as long as I can breathe, have all my limbs, and can reasonably get around, it's a good day... yeah, sure... this can cause anxiety, but there's so much more out there to be anxious over... such as will PMDG hold off their release of the 777-300ER until 2024 at this juncture? In the meantime between XP/MSFS I'm quite occupied with what I have.
  • @badassoptic
I mean most of us serious flyers fly payware anyway. I barely use default aircrafts
  • @dtrjones
Seems like you are reading way too much into this. If a developer says they are developing for 2020, then it just means they want to reach the larger user base of 2020 than target something for a smaller user base in 2024. It does not mean the aircraft will not work for 2024. The way Seb spoke about the enhancements, you'll get some for free, the more complex ones you'll need to tweak and enable. Providing a free update is what all developers should be aiming for, this is BAU, there's absolutely nothing to be concerned with here.
  • @sk8guitardrums
I thought the devs talked about updating the code that is behind the sim, so it runs more efficiently and up to date code that is used more nowadays instead of the older code that was used in FSX etc. Thing is if the code is truly changed, how will the older products that were designed in the old code work in the 2024 sim. sure hope the default aircraft physics is on the same level of the PMDG / ini builds type aircraft. I will wait a little while one 2024 is released and see what the reviews so.
