I personally buy gears specifically for their in-game use. I mainly play games that allow gears because I love messing around with them on other people. What’s unfortunate is that a lot of the gears I bought were made many years ago and no longer work. There is a group called “GEAR.” that is dedicated to fixing these broken gears and implementing the changes into their own games, but it still saddens me that these changes can’t be made to all the other Roblox games and are are only available in the group’s games. As certain gears get older, they start to not work anymore due to Roblox updating their game but not the individual gears. But I can’t completely blame them. There are so many gears out there that trying to fix each and every one of them would take a very long time. Oh yeah, and R15 is just NOT compatible with most of the gears at all. Most still have their basic function, but special abilities just do not work, making them much less special. So along with everything you mentioned in this video that caused gears to become obsolete, there’s also the issue that the older ones are being forgotten about much quicker due to them no longer working. Great video. As you can probably tell, I’m always interested in the topic of Roblox gears and just the gears themselves.

This reminded me of something, way back when, during a flamingo rat thing raid on the foxes or whatever, someone claiming to be chara from undertale started giving me gears that were meant to be the souls, and made me invincible, and I basically lead the raid with that hacker, and it was super fun, wish I could do that again.

I think the reason the Rubyhorde the Rapacious' Treasure (6:06) was 13+ is because you get pretty much any gear dropped from players which could include the other 13+ gears.

Hate how all most games never let you bring gear anymore. I remember back in 2009 to 2012, there would be fun gear battles where everyone had their own unique set of gear which would create interesting battles.

I think one of the only ways to make gears somewhat useful and worth their exorbitant cost would be to convert gears to wearable accessories. This would come with some problems for gears that are still used in games, but I’m sure there could be ways to work around that. Overall though, gears could really benefit from being made wearable, such as having guns like the Hyperlaser Gun or Luger holstered and swords such as the Energy Sword series as back accessories.

as soon as i noticed that one of ryland kurshenoff’s jungle mixes was your background music, i instantly knew it was going to be a great video. fantastic topic choice as well. so many old gears have such cool and interesting history that, quite frankly has not been covered.

if roblox ever does allow public UGC gears, then it's only a matter of time before someone recreates the tool gun from garry's mod.

This is really underrated.

It's strange - Roblox just adding useless gears, but I like these gears because you can really use them as models for your tools in game - like for a tower defense game where you can use roblox gears for towers that you made and yeah... I think this is the best thing you can do with gears in your roblox game... sadly... 😢

actually the rainbow periastron used to have a old ability where it would shoot rainbows dealing 40 damage it wasnt until 2019 were roblox revamped the item

It’s fun to use the gears that do still work in various games that allow them (there are a good number of them) and there is a community I’m in that fixes and revamps gears

ugc gears? i wonder how that would work.. maybe there could be some gear presets that you can only change the mesh of

Gears are very popular and are used in almost every user generated place in blockate which is a sandbox game.
