Tutorial: How To Wire A Fire Alarm To A Pull Station (Requested)

Published 2016-06-10
I decided to do a video on how to wire a fire alarm to a pull station. I got a request from a friend to do a video like this and I thought "why not". So I really like this method because it works great for mini systems and it also can be used as a simple and fun fire alarm system if you do not have a panel. I do not know when I will be getting a panel because I am still learning about this stuff but I will eventually after I learn more and progress. If you want a simple mini system, this is the best thing in my opinion for you. You can also hook up more devices on it. Maybe about 3 to 5 at the limit depending on how much power you have. Some of my adapters are 9 volts, 12 volts, 18 volts, as well as 24 volts. But in this video, I just did it this way and kept it nice and simple for beginners and even those that just want a simple system. Feel free to comment if you have any questions etc. I hope this helped you out!

NOTE: This is in a controlled and legal environment where I am doing these videos. This is for
demonstration purposes only. So no fire departments were called when activating this alarm.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO FLASHING LIGHTS, I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU NOT WATCH
THIS VIDEO.

damages done to you or your fire alarms, or even your life. ***

Thanks so much this is the best video explaining this!
  • Warning don’t do this in public if you pull a fire alarm in a public building without a fire you’re off to jail.
  • Okay, I am very confused right now. I am attempting the wiring and have the negative wire from my adaptor screwed in tightly to the negative terminal of the pull station. I removed the protective covering on the TrueAlert to reveal a chip. I can see positive and negative for the horn and strobe, but where exactly do I connect the wires on the back side on the chip? :)

Would a 24v adapter work on a two alarm- to pull station system?
  • @jxww
    Would this work with a SIGA-278 and a G1R-HDVM?

Just a question, for a more professional system if I were to cut the wires accidentally would it go off?
