Professional eater Randy Santel vs The Royal Inn Hotel's Mega "Royal" Aussie BBQ Pork Ribs Challenge, hosted by The Royal Inn Hotel in the Waratah neighborhood of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia!! My beautiful girlfriend ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I started our giant 2.5 month long 2023 Australia Tour back in early February 2023. We landed first into Sydney, NSW and opened up the trip by attempting 10 different man vs food restaurant eating challenges around the state of New South Wales. The small businesses were mainly around Sydney and Newcastle, NSW. For food challenge #7, we headed to The Royal Inn Hotel in the Waratah neighborhood of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, so we could each attempt their mega-sized "Royal" Aussie BBQ Pork Ribs Challenge which had to all be finished within a very short 30 minute time limit. Katina went first and dominated the challenge, so they gave me what I call an "Australian Welcome" and loaded up my platter with even more food than Katina received. There were 7 pieces of barbecue pork ribs equivalent to 3 full racks of Australian BBQ pork ribs, served over ~1kg of chips/fries. The giant platter includes lots of creamy coleslaw served over a mound of healthy salad. Around 15% of the people who try this challenge win, and the other 85% fail. This is normally a pay-to-play challenge, so everybody pays $55 AUD regardless whether they win or lose. Winners get a sweet t-shirt to add to their collection and a spot on the Wall of Fame. Get the new fastest time and they will put your name on the overall leaderboard. Thanks to so many much appreciated people being there, the restaurant said they would give Katina and me our meals free if we won. BIG thanks to everyone with The Royal Inn Hotel Waratah for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks also to all the wonderful people from around the Newcastle, NSW area who came up that Tuesday evening to watch and meet us!!
