Pauline is the first damsel in distress, disappears for 30 years, (save for the Mario and Donkey Kong games,) and suddenly comes back as the mayor of a giant city. What an absolute icon.

Hats off to that one trumpeter playing the part of an entire brass section

This scene is just one gigantic "Thank you" letter to all Nintendo fans around the world.

This feels like one of those rare times Nintendo actually shows genuine appreciation for their fans beyond their money. This one moment feels like the “Sonic Mania” of the Mario franchise.

Most emotional moment in mario history

Peach: I baked him a cake Pauline: Bitch I gave him a whole festival
  • When Pauline does that little skippy trot dance, the music is playing a rendition of the background music of the original Donkey Kong arcade game and Pauline's dance mimics the 2 frame animation she had up there next to ol' DK. That's some loving attention to detail <3

When you realize that Pauline develops more character then Peach in one song rather than over 30 years of being kidnapped.

5 years and still looks so new, Nintendo did an incredible job here, but somehow i feel nostalgic. Edit: 6 Years! 7 Years have almost passed and the game still brings joys to the fans, however its more nostalgic than ever, Nintendo surpassed their quality with this piece of art and i really doubt that they will ever exceed this in the future in their next console.
  • This part isn’t just the most iconic scene in Mario Odyssey or even the franchise, but in video game history. New Donk City felt like a New Years celebration from start to finish.

This sequence feels like its pulled out of a Disney Animation, it's so whimsical. Nintendo is one of the few devs that make games that feel like they did at a simpler time. In today's super serious dark triple -A productions, Odyssey reminds everyone that a game doesn't need edgy dialogue ,guns, explosions or complex story lines to be good, at the end of the day all a game really needs to be is just fun.

This level sent my soul into another universe. I cried through the whole thing. This level reaches into your soul and reminds you of every single memory you had playing a Mario game. I found myself wanting to continue but not wanting the level to end. An actual masterpiece.

    DAMN YOU LEGENDARY SPIRIT PAULINE
  • @jhalton2229
Can I just say that I love it when Pauline scats at 7:51 while Mario and Cappy get the multi- moons? It just sounds so good!
  • @ghostofhinawa
I would give everything to play through this level for the first time again.
  • She winks after saying "i'll be your one-up girl" Well played pauline

Peach: Saved me from kidnapping? Have a cake. Pauline: Saved the city like the police could do? THROW A FESTIVAL!

Freaking awesome, love that Pauline’s mouth actually moves while she sings and even dances, they seriously put so much love and devotion into this one level and I’m sincerely grateful that this game exists. Good job Nintendo, this is freaking awesome. And yes, from time to time, I listen to this song because it’s a freaking jam to listen to! ✨
  • @Speed-TV
It's crazy how this isn't the ending, but rather the middle of the game.

Imagine dying by accident in your own festival
