The first Silent Hill was one of the best Playstation games and laid the groundwork for the series for years to come. And of course you can’t have a Silent Hill game without a main character, so today we are going to take a deep dive into Harry Mason to see what makes him tick. You guys have been requesting for me to cover Silent Hill for a long time now and I’m very excited to show you what I found.

  • Harry Mason is low key one of my favourite protagonists in survival horror genre. He is not a cop or a soldier with big bulging muscles, he is just a normal dad who is trying to protect his family. He could be any one of us.
  • @Nathan-Croft
I can't wait for James Sunderland and Heather Mason.
  • @bryanbeach2572
Nice surprise. As a writer and father, I've always liked the character of Harry Mason.
  • @Chernobog2
I think one fact that should have made it into the video is that in his notebook in Silent Hill 3, he confesses that he suspected that the baby who would grow up to be Heather was truly Alessa, and that he considered abandoning her or even killing her himself several times, which he expresses guilt over
  • Wow, I didn't know Harry was able to catch his breath after drinking a health drink. I love SH1 and this sure makes me want to play it all over again. Nice work; thank you for the amazing content!
  • @steelbear2063
I used to believe that the car ending was canon for a longer time than I care to admit. Also makes sense for Sybil to be dead, since there's no way for Harry to know about red liquid's qualities before Kaufman uses it at the end.
  • @High5Authentic
"That was probably dope in the bottle" 🤣 The most clearest assumption ever heard!
  • First time I played SH1 alone in my room with the ligths off when it was first released I almost shat myself then felt sorry for Harry for what he had to go through. Then was pissed when they killed him off in 3.
  • Oh you have got to do all the silent hill protagonists now! Honestly I kind of want to see on on Henry. He is like a weird mix of Harry and James, A normal guy thrown into a horrible situation but at the same time something about his personality is off.
  • To his love detectiv stories. I heard his name is might be a reference to the detective/lawyer Perry Mason, who is referenced in Jacobs Ladder, which was also a inspiretion to Silent Hill.
  • @user-od4xk9rl8h
harry is my favorite silent hill protagonist i was so sad when he died in silent hill 3
  • @FaithCannon7
The best ending is canon because Harry gave Heather the necklace that had the hardened red liquid inside that hurts the demons. He used it on the parasite possessing Cybil. Kauffman even told him about it and used it on the final boss.
  • Harry got his name because of Harry Inaba, who was a part of Team Silent.
  • @rainne666
I remember the first time I made de UFO ending in SH1. I laugh a lot when he ask to the aliens "Have you seen a little girl?"
  • @ianmpena
I really do hope that we get a new silent hill game because it's been 8 years when the silent hills game got cancelled and I hope we get a new game or a silent hill remake of 1 or 2 in the near future.
