Dylan is so amazing that he can make 60 minutes feel like only 15 minutes.

His explanation about knowing his destiny, but keeping it to himself - “It’s a fragile thing, and if you put it out there, people will kill it.” Putting into words what so many have felt.

Ed Bradley was very ill at the time of this interview, but he soldiered on. He died 2 years later. This interview of Dylan showcased what a tremendous journalist and professional he was. Rest in peace...

I knew his mother; she was a friend of mine. She was a great and she had hundreds and hundreds of friends many of whom were members of the Twin Cities Jewish community. I worked at a country club that she was a member of and it took me a lot of courage to broach the topic of Dylan with her. I waited until I had gotten to know her fairly well responded to one of her frequent mentions of "Bobby" to nervously say "Bobby, that's Bob" she cut me off and said "that's right, Bob Dylan". She was just a typical Jewish mother who was insanely proud of her children and grandchildren. The last time I saw her was in Lunds grocery store when she spotted me and after we exchanged pleasantries she asked me if I was still working at the University of St Thomas because she had a grandson who was starting there in the fall and wanted me to look him up. This kid was a serious musician:. His primary instrument was either drums or guitar but was good enough to teach both. One day I was in one of the music spaces and I heard someone playing an absolutely amazing classical piece on the piano. It was complicated and was being played sans mistakes. When I got close enough to see who was playing this beautiful piece the player looked up and it was him. I'm no musician but to be that good at three very different instruments at age 20 strikes me as being a rare trait.

I am 73 years old and consider my generation fortunate to have grown up with the music of our time. Bob Dylan was the cornerstone of that music

Bob deeply respected Ed Bradley, as he showed in this interview. As a result, the “big questions” were answered fully, perhaps for the only time.

The moment when he says he went to the crossroad to make a deal with the ‘Chief Commander’ and the reporter knows exactly what he means is so eerie and give me chills even if I’m a Christian and aware of the unseen spiritual realm exists.

One Dylan quote when asked why he came out with a new album after being quiet for a season was “I needed the money”. I loved the honesty.

Dylan clearly doesn't take all the attention seriously because he is highly intelligent and I think he realizes that fame is an illusion and he has never been bothered by what people think of him. ...smart guy...

Holy mother of God. This interview has depth. It says something about American culture regarding the dynamics of rebellious youth and their parents. Every generation has this dynamic, but American culture gave rebellious youth an opportunity to glamorize their rebellion through the medium of art in the form of entertainment. Man, there is a lot to dissect about this.

My dad used to play Dylan constantly when i was growing up, i found it annoying until i was about 15, my dad gave me a book of his lyrics written down and I read them, they touched my soul in a way i cant explain. Im 34 now and I have had the honor of seeing him perform once, he still has the magic, he is the magic. I sung "make you feel my love" to my husband at my wedding reception as a suprise, my dad suprised me with a second daddy daughter dance "forever young"...no one knew about either plan beforehand except the DJ. Dylan is a huge part of the relationship i have with my dad to this day.

I have been bob Dylan fan since the 60's I'm 76yrs and I 'm still one of his many fans! A forever bob Dylan fan!!

Bob Dylan, what an eloquent lyricist . He is extremely intelligent, and private.

I love coming back to this interview. There's alot to take in. I find the sound of his voice strangely comforting.

In addition to giving the world great songs Dylan is hilarious...mostly because he doesn't take himself too seriously. There are a ton of musical folks, far far less talented, who would benefit themselves greatly by doing the same. Love this guy!
