Hi everyone! This is my musical arrangement of the "The Hanging Tree" from the the Hunger Games and the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins! I hope you like it :) I read each and every one of your comments and looked at all of your votes for which version of the song you wanted to hear! I did my very best to create a Lucy Gray version that sounded like the original with some modification & tried to make it feel a little happier and a little more free :)
The guitar I am playing is a harp guitar made by Timberline guitars

Guys... i had a brain flub ☹ I said hope instead of rope. How could I let that slip 😭 too many times listening to the movie version. Anyway I'm gonna try to change it for the Spotify version! A few of you mentioned it asking why- and it wasn't intentional at all. My brain has been a bit stupy lately 😆❤ so much going on 😫

i love this because it's "Lucy's version" more of a lullaby, while Katniss changed it to something more powerful, like an anthem, to take down the capital during the rebellion. it really shows the contrast during each time period. this is the best thing ever! periodt. <3

Imagine how painful for snow it must be when hearing Katniss sing it, and it being broadcasted all over the country. His first love wrote that song for him, so it must be really sad

The mockingjay jingle reference, I CANT

After reading the book, seeing all this Lucy Gray stuff is kind of tragic..
-
Do we all agree about that you should starring Lucy Gray Baird if someone does “the ballad of songbirds and snakes” ‘film?
-
she really said ✨talent✨
-
I noticed Rue’s four-note melody at 1:45 - very clever!!

It's finally up! I hope you like it! I worked really hard to make an arrangement that worked with all of your ideas and suggestions! Something that sounded like the original but a little different - a little more happy and free - a little more Lucy. We had so much fun finding a location that felt like it could be the same field that's in the Hunger Games movies! It was sooo beautiful! And that humming bird at the beginning! :D Thank you for watching!!

"Run Lil! ru!....." "Run Lil! ru!....." (perfect performance and arrangeement as always ❤)

Are you going to do deep in the meadow? Just wondering
-
The location is gorgeous! Great spot for reading a book or playing guitar.
-
OMG RUE’S WHISTLE AT 1:48
-
this sounds a lot more like Lucy Gray and the Covey than the movie version, good job!
-
I'm at the HANGING TREE 🌲 now who's coming? Maiah? Anyone?

1 dislike Coriolanus Snow

in my head i didn't imagine this kind of melody, but i feel this is a legendary moment either way

I love that this feels like more of an innocent version of the song. Haunting, like Lucy, but not scary or powerful like Katniss made it in her version. I love the addition of Rue's mockingjay call to it! I would love to see your own arrangement on Katniss's version of this melody. Your work is amazing, so glad I found it!
