Raven guard and other successors: "why cant you be normal??!!" Space sharks: "da dum....da dum"
  • I'm Corvus Corax and the Ravenguard are my favourite chapter on the Citadel.
  • @LucasBarboza08
This is one of the reasons I really want to see both Corax and Vulkan back in the setting. Not only they are the primarchs that are more in tune with their humanity, they also are the primarchs that care about their sons the most. Where the Lion felt regret he wasn’t there to guide his sons during his absence, Corax and Vulcan would be proud of their sons and their work, guardians and liberators of man.

I actually love the Raptors alot. A chapter that believes ranged hit and run is the best strategy. In a universe where running at a tank with your melee weapon held high is the ultimate show of honor. Just having a chapter that looks at that and shakes their head is refreshing.

Dark Angels successors are probably the closest. They're not successors, they're "successors". Azrael doesn't lead a chapter, he leads a legion hiding the fact that they're a legion. I think that makes them the closest by default.

So far I’m only a lore fan, I haven’t graduated to painting minis levels yet, but I find myself liking the Ravenguard more than other legions

Raven Guard cawing at each other and their successors like Ravens delights me. Corax: CAW

I'd love to see the Ravens getting more attention soon. Maybe Corax himself returning. I can dream 😅
  • This particular Ravenguard marine; Siefer Zeed, is an atypical one. Loud, brash, forward and a joker. He is the "attitude-one" in his kill-team. But they keep him, because he is a melee-monster. He fights with lightning claws and is the best melee killer in Steve Parkers entire Deathwatch series. Kayvaan Shrike sent him to the Deathwatch, so that he might learn some respect and become the Chapter Champion, that his raw skill merits.

My homebrew chapter Ghost is a second founding Raven guard. The chapter holds the Raven guard and other Raven guard mix in high regard

Id say the Son's of Dorn are probably the closest. Some good examples of this I feel where the Black Templars coming to the Celestial Lion's aid, as well as the "Last Wall Protocol" wherein all of Dorn's chapters are summoned back to the defense of Terra.

Hearing about this again reminded me of the shortcoming of my own chapter of the Dark Angels and how happy I am the Lion is now back to whip them into shape. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read War of Secrets.

We need more interactions like this! I loved the comraderie of the fists in the war of the beast and the salamanders are embracing their successors too (tho the black vipers aren't happy about that)
  • @UncleFester84
The Raptors are my fav chapter, they are more "super soldier" than "warrior monks".
  • @johnmackey2703
I always believed that the space wolves and the raven guard should have had a better relationship because of how irl wolves and ravens react together
  • @carlospomares3225
"You think they could add some flavor to the damn stuff" I love little momments like that
  • @leenan2345
Should have heard my gasp of delight when the interaction between Karras and Zeed from the Deathwatch book was mentioned. As an ardent Raven Guard fan, I absolutely adored these two oddballs. Karras, surprisingly human and caring for a Death Spectre. Zeed, possibly the most extroverted, outgoing Raven Guard in existence. I loved the little interactions between these cousins. They seem quite fond of each other.
  • @Paerigos
Well... There were about only 3000 Ravenguard left after the Heresy... When you dont have much family left you have to keep the one you have.
  • The Ravenguard was almost annihilated in the Horus Heresy. Ravenguard were also never a large legion, so any large losses would be devastating, meaning any successor chapters would be highly valued.
