As someone in the military, all of this is indeed accurate. They picked like the worst ones but the first time I had to eat one I couldn’t figure out the whole heating system and ate it cold😂😂

the cappuccino that ya’ll thought was good (or “not bad”) is sometimes used to barter along with other commodities ;). when youre starving in the middle of nowhere, “not bad” goes to “this taste friggin amazing” quickly!

The tuna MREs are a fan favorite because they have Reese's Pieces and I believe a cinnamon roll. They also happen to be the only MRE that taste decent cold, so you can use your heating packet as a hand warmer instead.

I like how they read the directions for the lemonade to put it into a water bottle and shake it but instead use a third of the water into a cup and wonder why its strong.

From my experience, in my time in military practice, everything I ate and drinked tasted way better than they would in a normal life. Even bad consumables weren't that bad at a military time. Because the life style there is so radically different, the taste buds changes little bit as well.

I like how Michael is so chaotic that no one mentions the fact he literally bit a water bottle cap off (ik those types of bottles are cheap plastic and its not that difficult to do that but still.)

They really aren't that bad for the most part, especially since generally you're pretty hungry when you're eating them.

These bring up a lot of memories. Also really good for long trips or camping. Use to have one in my emergency roadside kit in case I ended up stuck somewhere in the winter, I'd at least have a meal to get me by. A lot of the meats you can get through with a little hot sauce. The 'snack bread' with the cheese is a slam dunk
