In this video join me on location for some landscape photography on the northumberland coast while I talk a little bit about the Peak Design Cuff and why its my favourite camera accessory for photography, not only because its under £30, but because its one of the best camera accessories I have bought in a long time.
When it comes to camera gear and accessories I seem to be looking for items that make my overall photography experience easier and less annoying, the Peak Design Cuff definitely does that, it would also make an amazing affordable gift for a photographer as the festive season is approaching!

  • I bought the PD anchors and clips and made my own wrist strap with two colour para cord 4 years ago and it still looks great and does the job.

As mentioned by Jim below there is the Camera Clip - that one I would indeed call "quality of life" as it enables you to carry the camera literally right under your nose and have both hands free. I do own the cuff myself, too, and like it very much, but I would call it a "peace of mind" piece of gear since you don't need to fear your camera falling to it's death. But to be honest, I actually prefer the PD Clutch to the Cuff, although it is not as secure it is more comfortable and you can relax your hand while the camera still stays in your hand - which you can't do with the Cuff.

I have the PD cuff and use it pretty much all the time. I have a PD strap and clutch too which do get used but the convenience of the cuff beats them all, for me. My only grip is when the cuff tightens and it’s a little awkward to release it unless you use your other hand.

I have the shoulder strap and i found out that it makes an adjustable loop near the camera where i can fit my hand and it spays quite comfortable, it could save my tiny olympus in case it falls.

I raw dog my cameras most of the time. The cuff is handy for those high risk environments though.
  • Nice location and very good video, thanks. I understand why you like this accessory. Even if I prefer using the PD Clutch, but I guess it’s a matter of tastes.

I have used a wrist strap for about 2 years and love it, I can't use any shoulder strap that's why I got the wrist strap

I can see that in some cases where you don't like having a camera strap or not using a backpack the Cuff may be useful. Have you considered the Peak Design Camera Clip where you can attach your camera on your backpack shoulder strap? That way you can be "hands free" and quickly have access to you camera for a shot without unpacking you backpack. I find it very useful.
