When the Patriot Act was rushed through Congress, there were those who worried that this sort of thing would happen, but the architects of the act promised that it would NEVER be used against American citizens. And then they wonder why we don't trust our own government anymore.

In 1998 I was told by a phone executive that all emails coming in and going out of a city were recorded by the gov on hard drives. At that time they could store three months worth. They had no way of searching these- but if you or someone you know did something bad they could search all the emails connected to that person. This was in 1998- so imagine what they can do now...

If you let your screen rest for more that 3 seconds, it'll register that you're watching whatever video is most prominent in your screen, even if you're not actually watching it. Can you imagine being dragged for that?
