Owner of 'Emotional Support Gator' Says Beloved Reptile was Stolen

The owner of emotional support reptile WallyGator says the gator was stolen in Georgia, and is asking for help in trying to find him.
Joie Henney, who lives in Pennsylvania, said in a Facebook post that the alligator was taken from his enclosure on April 21, while the two were visiting Henney’s friends in in Brunswick, Georgia.
Henney said in a later post that the alligator was nabbed by somebody “who likes to drop alligators off into someone’s yard to terrorize them.” and that WallyGator was then taken by a trapper called by the Department of Natural Resources. Storyful has not independently confirmed this claim, and has reached out to both the Department of Natural Resources and Brunswick police.
The gator was reportedly the visual model for the alligator in Disney+’s “Loki,” and has gone viral after several public appearances over the past few years.
“We need all the help we can get to bring my baby back…there is a reward out for Wally’s return safely with no questions asked” Henney said in an emotional video posted to TikTok.

This breaks my heart. He was very important to this gentleman, and brought a lot of selfless joy to his community. He has expanded my understanding of what’s possible in the emotional life of reptiles, and he would be in great distress without his person. 😢
