If I wanna go back to the 70s. Baker Street is my time machine. RIP Gerry.

His songs take me back to some of the best times of my life, Thank You….R.I.P.
  • It just flaws me to learn how talented, hurt, lost, broken, humble and how full of integrity Gerry was not to sell himself out for commercial success and fame. He has created / collaborated to make timeless music which should place him in someone's hall of fame. How little we know about those who bring us music. His smooth and soulful tone.

Making a record that does not age is the pinnacle of success for any artist; it will be played around the world and always sound fresh. Thank you Gerry.

Thank you so much. 🇨🇦 I really appreciate your effort & tour.
  • Whenever I hear the song Bakers Street I cry when it come to the lyrics " He's got this dream about buying some land He's gonna give up the booze and the one-night stands And then he'll settle down In some quiet little town And forget about ev'rything". Because unfortunately he could never give up the booze and the last years of his life were extremely sad and he died at a relatively young age of 63.

Stuck in the Middle With You was played as much as any top 10 hit in America. I was in Chicagoland. And then Baker Street and Right down the Line was way bigger. i was in the music distribution business so I personally handled thousands of those records. And then poof. Didn't really hear from him again and then....those songs would pop into my head...and here we are. R.I.P. Gerry.

Can you do one of jimmy stockley lead singer with exile. Please i love your channel very informative.
  • Its been said that Rafferty didnt think he was anything special. Well, I did. And he did surround himself with some great musicians. And I thought he had one of the smoothest, soothing male voices on the planet. I also have three of his most successful albums. Alcohol or not, you are sorely missed. RIP Gerry!
