EVERYONE LOVES A GOOD WIKIPEDIA COPYPASTA

Rush is the eponymous debut studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1974, and remastered in 1997. Rush's first release shows much of the heavy metal sound typical of many of the popular rock bands emerging from Britain earlier in the decade. Rush were fans of such bands as Led Zeppelin and Cream, and these influences can be heard in most of the songs on this debut. Original Rush drummer John Rutsey performed all drum parts on the album, but was unable to go on extended tours because of diabetes and left the band after the album was released. Rutsey wrote some lyrics for the debut, but never submitted them to the band and some new lyrics had to be thrown together. He was soon replaced by Neil Peart.

I don't always listen to Rush, but when I do, SO DOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD...

My Dad, RIP Dwayne Reeves! Passed on May 13th, 2023 at age 61, Rush was his favorite Band. He put me on to Rush and even took me to a concert of theirs, just 2 yrs ago before he suffered his first stroke I was lucky enough to take him to a rush tribute band here locally. This song is a true reflection of the Man he was, a hard working crane operator for 40 yrs! He would pull up to the house after a hard days work jamming this song so loud you could hear him 2 blocks away! I love you pops! 4-ever in my memory 🤘🏼

Posted this on a couple other Rush videos because I love reading the comments and I really love Rush... When I was 14 I had Rush posters all over my room. Obsessed with the band and their photos. I'm 50 now and a a professional concert photographer who's been photographing 75-100 bands a year for the last 25 years.. A couple years ago, and for the first time, I got to stand 10 feet away from RUSH and photograph them live. . It was truly sublime and I nearly had a heart attack from sheer joy. I remained focused however and got some fabulous shots of the boys. Now I have my own Rush posters hanging in my office that I shot personally. Full Circle. Love you and thank you Neil, Alex and Geddy! RIP Neil.

RIP John Rutsey, the band's original drummer who only played on the first album and initial singles. This one was pre-Neil Peart. May he rest in peace as well.

John Rutsey was their drummer when this album came out. He was good! Sadly he passed away in 2008. Rest is peace John and Neil!

Listening to Working Man is a little sad when you realize that both drummers for Rush are dead. But Working Man is still classic. One of the best debut albums of all time RIP John Rutsey RIP Neil Peart

Thank you everyone from Rush! My dad passed on Monday August 24th 2015 and he loved you guys and your music. This was his favorite song.
  • So sad that Neil has passed, but let's not forget the man who drummed for this album... R.I.P. John Rutsey 1952 - 2008

I hear tons of influence from Black Sabbath in this one from their Paranoid album as well as those mentioned in the description. Early metal gods.

I remember, when my dad was driving me to school (sophomore year,) 1975, and we stopped at 7-11 to get gas and smokes. When he came out of the store, he brought this album in 8 track. Fukken jamming! And, I’ve been hooked on Rush ever since. 🤘🏻

How did so many “Fans” forget this was John? R.I.P. to the both of them.
  • John Rutsey was the drummer on this Rush recording, Neil wasn't there yet.

The guitar in this song is just phenomenal. The drums are too. R.I.P John
