If you wanna know why hoglins look so weird, it’s because they are modeled after the mechakoopas from Mario galaxy. They’re much chunkier than regular ones, which is why they used a hoglin as a base.

Really threw me off that the warden isn't Petey Piranha. The sculk is all piranha plants, Petey is a boss character, and he has a big head with a gaping mouth, just like the warden. Not to mention, Petey's dungeon in Partners in Time is literally a dark, blue-green underground ruin, just like the ancient cities.

This isn't just the Mario one, every single mashup pack gets updated for new Minecraft updates, even the really old ones from legacy console editions (pre-bedrock) I really respect them updating em all these years later

I remember playing this with my brother years ago, replacing the mario statues colours to make them fire mario and filling the boswer statue up with tnt, good times... Kinda weirdly comforting to see its still being updated

I remember seeing one thing about the mash up pack being talked about a while ago. It was about how everything skulk related is piranha plant themed, but for some reason they made the warden be dry bowser instead of Petey piranha I can’t help but agree

I’d kinda like it if some mobs were just in the Mario style but still those mobs rather than being based on specific mario enemies. Like those goats, but for other mobs, I suppose. Like the camel.

5:29 the spy glass texture is one of the filters from Mario odyssey on capture mode

All of the old mashups packs, including ones like Skyrim and fallout are still updated. Some of them have gotten really creative, such as making the warden a deathclaw for fallout.

So the Mechakoopa texture on the Hoglin is actually the design from Super Mario Galaxy. Look it up!!
