We'll do some simple troubleshooting to fix the blue screen of death on Windows 8 or Windows 7.
Retrieve lost data if computer fails to start because of blue or black screen of death: goo.gl/H8HDne

Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 discs work interchangeably
You can grab a Windows 8 iso file from torrents
I have a few videos for creating a Bootable USB Flash Drive of Windows 8:

Create Windows 8 Bootable USB on Windows:
   • (Rufus) How to Create a Windows 8 (8....

Create Windows 8 Bootable USB on Ubuntu:

You want to boot into your Bootable USB Flash Drive with Windows on it.
Use F12 (normally) to get into Boot Options and Boot into Windows Bootable USB Storage Device
The key could also be F2

We follow a few steps to try to fix the Blue Screen of Death
1) We try Startup Repair (if this works, you're done)
2) If Startup Repair does not work, then you should try System Restore
(System Restore does not affect files or documents) (However, it may uninstall programs up to that point)
Trial and error, you try a restore point, and you should be back in business.

I've been coming back to this video several times a year in an attempt to salvage my PC and finally with the windows 10 release, I have been able to use the bootable repairs. thank you for posting this video, I hope it works
  • I thought I lost all my data for a moment. I'm suscribing to your channel as a thank you.
  • Hey there! Great video, thanks! What do you do if you've gone through the process you outlined and NONE of your restore points work?

Thanks. A very helpful video. My laptop is now doing a system restore and you've saved me hours of pain !
  • My computer won't go into the boot up options... The only way it lets me access BIOS is if I take it all apart and take the battery out and then put it together again. Does this mean there is some other problem as well....?

Everything was going great until I found out that my computer never saved, so I don't have any system to restore to. What should I do?
  • Hi, thank you for a great instruction video. I followed as stated and using another laptop, I created a startup USB. That would not work for boot up of the laptop that was down, so I put a windows 7 disc in and used the repair function in that. It was when I chose from the 4 options and one of them worked and although the laptop switched off after it did whatever it was doing, I nervously switched it on and it took a while 'working in the backgroud' and then it came onto login. Phew, all is well and I restarted with no problems. Thought I would tell you all of this. Thank you for leading the way...

Is there any way without usb/disc? If so, how do you get to advanced boot settings?

I have a similar problem. My problem is that when I start from a restore point it will say it was successful. After it will begin to restart and whilst doing it, freezes my PC. Might have to get it looked at :(
  • I got this problem when I accidently drop my laptop to the ground , I already got the bootable usb but when I try to press f12 or even f2  it doesn't work , also my laptop is a Lenovo brand so for this brand do I have to press any other button to get to boot option
