“I think every Metallica record has its own journey, its own story, its own path forward. They’re all unique, and I think you accept all of them. The one common thread between all the Metallica records is that they’re done with the best intent, the purest intent, and always an attempt in that moment to write the best songs to create the best collection of songs.”

There is no Metallica without Lars. He saw the potential in James and created the best band in the world.

If every person who claims “Lars sucks” knew just how much work and time he puts in to MetallicA behind the scenes, they would think otherwise. Lars is one of the hardest working most driven musicians of all time.

Lars is a genius! He's my favorite drummer of all time! 🥁🤘🏼

It's amazing that Lars has been able to keep himself healthy enough to play live like he does. A top-tier musician, to be sure. The man definitely deserves way more respect.
  • Lars is the Encyclopedia of Metallica.. it would be awesome if he writes a book about Metallica

If James is the soul of Metallica, then Lars is the heart. Lars is my favorite member of this amazing band. They (unlike other classic bands, like Van Halen) treat their fans with respect. And part of what makes it fun to listen to them is the different eras...different sounds...different styles.

I love Lars! He’s my hero! He’s such an astute individual.

I don't care what the haters say about Lars, he remains as my ALL TIME favorite drummer. This interview was a pleasure to watch, thank you for posting it!
  • I think, this might be the best "Lars interview" I have seen, the last 30 years! He is reflecting in such a relaxed way, I haven't seen him to that degree, before. I really enjoyed watching it.

Jason Newsted on Lars: "If we wouldn't have had him and his ability to anticipate, to predict, to know geography, to understand what country and what city and what did what at what time and all this stuff, no way Metallica would be what they were. No way! So you need to get ahold of yourselves because there's way more to it than just being able to hit a snare drum."

"We're digging what were doing" As a musical artist THIS is more important than anything. Whether people like it or not Metallica have found a groove and sound that they like and enjoy. Lars has said many times they don't like looking back and repeating old ground they've done that already and better than anyone, that was a style they were feeling then, the 90s was music they were feeling then and this is the new era sound of what they like and are feeling now. Its real.

Same old Lars. Metallica wouldn't exist without him. The little engine that did! Much respect man.☺ \m/

One of the greatest drummers period. Awesome interview
  • @DeadDad1
It's no secret that I am definitely a Lars fan. As a fellow drummer I sincerely appreciate his work!
  • Metallica is a great band, Lars, James, and Kirk have been threw a lot. Most bands would not still be playing at their age. When they added Robert to the band, he was a great addition with energy and fresh ideas. Everyone may not like the type of music they play, but you will have to admit for they are one of the best bands to still be together, and producing great music. When Metallica is finished playing a a lot of people will realize how good they were.

He needs to write a book about this band and his contributions, he’s done so much behind the scenes for them.
  • @MartialCoachJF
I only exist in multiverses where there's also Metallica ❤️❤️❤️
  • @heartbeatsdrum
Lars is the reason I started playing drums over 20 years ago. Although I've gotten way more technical and groove oriented than he's ever been in that time, he's solid as a rock and the reason the band is as good as they are. Another one of my huge influences, Joey Jordison, even stuck by Lars. His contribution to the songwriting process is the reason they are still killing it to this day.
  • @EricAshe
This many years in and he’s still as passionate about Metallica & Metal in general 🤘🏻
