I heard two Houston policemen say they were not told about the possible flooding, and were not mobilized by their mayor! So they went out to help using their own boats. Yet even here in Australia we all have known for days about the massive flooding coming to Houston!! This is the start of it.

I am sure that the National Guard, firefighters, police officers, rescuers are doing an incredible hard work, but as I've seen on ABC, CNN, FOX, etc. They obviously need help from other states, Helping rescuers should come from all over the America! From every state!I am in Boston if they ask for volunteers for help, I will apply immediately!

No signs telling her to stop? How about the fact the lane barriers are completely submerged? Do you really need a printed sign to use basic observational logic?
  • so glad to see AMERICANS from all races come to help these poor ppl.

Why in the world would she drive into all that water to begin with?? She shouldn't be driving if she doesn't understand that. She's very lucky that she is ok

Our prayers to all those in Houston, friends, family and even those we don't know. May God keep you safe. And to all those people with rash comments, well God bless you too.
  • 4ft of snow is a disaster πŸ€”can't imagine four ft of rain a junior swimming pool? Are gas stations compromised? Drinking water and sewage? God help these people please.

I evacuated from Rockport to just north of Houston and now everything's underwater

For the ones who are saying no one knew. That's a lie. I live in Houston and we were given over a weeks warning that it could be bad. I don't even like our liberal mayor. But he has done a great job and is still doing a great job. If someone says they didn't know them maybe they weren't listening.
  • Take note Louisiana this is how you deal with a hurricane. We help each other not stand on a street corner yelling "help" at the government with our hands out.

I remember these days well. Although Houston did not get a direct hit , we had loads of rain. 7 months later, we are still recovering.
