For phantom menace I would also recommend Darth Plague E Us. The books falling over in the background was unnecessarily hilarious to me, HA!

Great video! For the sequel trilogy, I do agree that it’s difficult to recommend books based off of them. If you were to go with all Star Wars media here’s how I’d do it. Force Awakens- Bloodline(novel) : Does the political legwork force awakens never did to explain the state of the galaxy and is probably the best solo Leia of all time. The Last Jedi- Knights of the Old Republic 2 (video game): This one is really difficult but it’s one of the few pieces of Star Wars that really tries to deconstruct all of the foundations that hold the universe together in a similar way. The rise of Skywalker- Dark Empire (comic): The story that inspired 90% of the plot. Something that also goes 100mph, introduces a crazy amount of new lore and crazy ideas, and is more style over substance but a great thrill ride nonetheless.

Just for laughs, I’d like to try my hand at 7-9. For Force Awakens, I think the obvious choice is the Legacy of the Force series. Thats one I’ve not gotten to yet, so I’m making assumptions, but knowing the general premise I think that’s a given. Episode VIII is about Jedi finding balance and discovering their place and purpose, while the B plot focuses on an allegory for nature; Shatterpoint does this to great effect, and it also has an extremely mature tone, which was another common praise for VIII. Episode IX is tricky, but I assume if someone likes Episode IX as a film, it’s probably because of Sith lore — for which I will recommend Darth Plagueis — or it’s because they love Rey — in which case I will cop out and say Quinlan Vos: Jedi in Darkness packaged alongside The Clone Wars volumes collecting the Dark Horse Republic comics from the 2000s. The material with Ayla Secura is the most reminiscent of Rey discovering she’s a Palpatine, her discovering her history/false memories (and if comics don’t count, I guess I’ll say Maul: Shadow Hunter for Darsha). There may be closer matches, but that’s what’s coming to mind.

I still need to read those Luceno books. I have read most of the others, they are good recommendations.

Some good choices. I'm surprised you didnt mention Kenobi for Revenge of the Sith. If you want to know what happened to Obi Wan after that and between A New Hope, that would be an option. For the Attack of the Clones, I'd recommend The Jedi Quest series. Hear me out. Even though there are 10 books, they are written for middle grade which makes them super easy reads. Also the print in them is pretty big which makes for a quick read as well. Great characters and characterizations, stories and world building.
  • I'll give my picks before watching and see if any match up. TPM: Cloak of Deception AOTC: Yoda: Dark Rendezvous The Clone Wars: Wild Space ROTS: Darth Bane: Path of Destruction Solo: X-Wing: Solo Command Rogue One: X-Wing: Rogue Squadron ANH: The Han Solo Trilogy (or just Rebel Dawn) ESB: Shadows of the Empire ROTJ: Jedi Search TFA: Heir to the Empire TLJ: Darth Plagueis TROS: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance

I also think that the republic commando books are great depictions of Clone life in the clone wars. Books one through three are hits, four and five miss the mark a little bit for me.
  • Great recommendations! I had a huge feeling that you were gonna suggest Cloak of Deception for Phantom Menace, Labyrinth of Evil + Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader for Revenge of the Sith, Shadows of the Empire for Empire Strikes Back, and The Thrawn Trilogy for A New Hope. For Phantom Menace, I would've also suggested Cloak of Deception and Darth Plagueis for Phantom Menace. For A New Hope, The Force Unleashed.

I would Have Recommended Truce At Bakura for RoTJ but I can understand the other choice, I could Recommend The Jedi Academy Trilogy just for the Super Weapons aspect of The Force Awakens, For The Rise of Skywalker the only option I can think is Tom Veitch's Dark Empire Comic Trilogy

I think a case could be made for Cestus Deception in place of the Republic Commando book for Episode II. Not because it’s a better book (I wouldn’t know, haven’t read RC yet), but because of the romance angle that I assume those books don’t have to the same degree. Jangotat’s romance is genuinely heartwarming and the best part of that book outside of the short story included in the paperback haha. So since it also deals with Clones a great deal (one of the first things to do so), but also includes the romance side as a key element, I’m going to suggest it as an addendum, seeing as I’m not informed on whether RC matches it on that front.
  • Solid picks, I can respect that. Not a huge fan of the Solo novels myself, and I have yet to read X-Wing, but the rest are all great recs and very fitting given the objective!

if you haven't read Darth Maul: LockDown it is good. It feels just like watching a Darth Maul clone wars episode. Although the book is not set in the same time as the Clone Wars tv show, just the aspect of a random mission/ event as Darth Maul fights to get out of a prison in space all orchestrated by Palpatine seems exactly like it should be one of those Clone Wars TV Episode fillers.
  • Thank you for another wonderful video! Needed this after a tragic bittersweet episode of HOTD. LoL. Keep it up. 👍🏻.

Как всегда интересное видео👍. Я бы добавил ещё перед 1 эпизодом роман "Дарт Плэгас". Перед 2 "Сверхдальний перелёт". С остальным всем согласен.

😍❤️ amazing list! Talking about Han & Leia love story, which book do you think is the best: The Princess and the Scoundrel (canon) or The Courtship of Princess Leia (legends)?
