  • One of my co-workers was an MSG in Moscow and he said it was a very memorable experience. And like most former Marines I've worked with he is one of the hardest working and squared away guys on my team.
  • Im an MSG and GD hit everything on the spot, good looks
  • 4:23 You can sign a MSG contract with your recruiter if there’s a spot open by the time you ship. It’s a secondary MOS but if you contract in MSG then ur Primary MOS will be infantry. You can always talk with a career planner for MSGs if you contract another field 👍
  • I served as Assistant RSO (ARSO) in Nairobi on August 7th 1998 when we were hit with a alQaeda truck bomb. The RSO is the Operational Commander for MSGs. One MSG, Jesse, was killed in the attack. One MSG was injured during the response and had to be hospitalized. The MSGs performed heroically and with no concern for their own safety. Later we were supported by the Marine FAST team to beef up internal and perimeter security, later they were replaced by the Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). We lost many American and Locally Employed Staff (Kenyan employees). I’m an Army Veteran (Vietnam era) but I will always be indebted to the Corps. Simper Fi gentlemen and ladies.

When I was in the Marine Corps back in the 80s it was called Embassy Duty. If your MOS 0311, you're either on Embassy Duty or you went straight out into the fleet. It also used to be an 18-month tour Duty.
  • Best job I ever had, helped me get to some amazing positions after my time in the Corps that I never knew existed beforehand. Any Marines watching this: SEND UP A PACKAGE!
  • MSG and MSAU 2012-2015, and helped stand up MSAU during it’s start up. Amazing program and group. It was initially only 0311 MSG’s who could go.
  • I spent a few weeks at the Embassy in Seoul and met many of the MSG. They were all good Marines and should be proud of themselves.
  • @hfb7109
I was MSG from 99-02,, if it had become a primary MOS, i would have done 20yrs,,it was an awesome adventure,,
  • As a former MSG of London, Port-au Prince, and Havana Det commander, I can't thank you enough for the evolution of training provided to these Marines on MSG today. I think it was a major turning point for me to make it a career in the Marines. Besides, the Ambassador in Blue has always been my dream, I realized three things, Became a Marine, an MSG, and a recruiter to boot. Thank you again for the great experiences I enjoyed having.
  • @cm-pr2ys
Thank God they extended the school to 8 weeks. I still think MSAU training should be mandatory for all MSGs before they head out to their first post though. It's just good info for them to have out on post without having to rely on the actual MSAU to come and do it for them. And it's only 3 more weeks.
  • @logan3635
can you do a video on the different opportunities for the Air Force Security Forces? Thanks for the very informative content btw!
  • I had a lot of fun going through MSG school back in the mid '80s. First time experiencing Quantico, which is very different from other bases in the fleet. Glad to see MSGs are no longer limited to State Dept issued weapons now. We were only allowed to use Mini-14s, 870p shotguns, UZI 9mms, and SW Model 19 .357 revolvers. The only exceptions as far as we knew, was El Salvador and Lebanon, and maybe similar type posts.
  • @lonnstar
Thank you so much for highlighting my unit. This was my greatest duty, having served at MSG Det. Jakarta and Niamey.
  • I had a friend at work who was a USMC MP and also had the ability to work as an MSG in Tanzania. He told me all sorts of cool stories from there.
  • Worked with the Kabul MSG when we took over the security guard force from a re-enforced Marine company. Excellent set of lads, extremely dedicated (as all USMC are), great fun to work with, especially as a Brit mixing humour
  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH THANKS BOYZ. IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS💪🇨🇦
  • You can actually do the program when first joining the MC. You have to enlist as a grunt then only serve 2 years rather than 3. After the program you go back to the fleet and finish out your contract.
