Cost of Assisted Living in the Philippines

this is the best and most important video i have seen so far about living there, old guys with young women might be nice but this is much more important having people who really care about you and most people can afford here in the USA

Nice to know SE Asia is an option. Same service at same price offered near Lake Chápala, Mexico for those needing something geographically closer to the U.S. Seems new options are always opening up, which presumably is in response to the high demand. Good video!

I am a filipino working and living here in Thailand, I saw couple of YouTube videos having a resort and a care home been operating here in Thailand and so with in Singapore. This is the new trend of business to cater foreign people since we all know that we have a caring nurses and caregivers in Philippines. And also our Philippine immigration has a straightforward rules in terms of visas.

We are a Philippine-born couple living in an assisted living facility in Folsom, California. Our monthly cost, without meals, runs about $ 7,400. Unfortunately, we don't have the option of moving back to the Philippines since our children and grandchildren are all living or employed in the Sacramento and the Bay Areas. As a closely knit and extended family we have to retire close to them. Sadly, we no longer have any close relatives in the Philippines to think of moving back home. Hopefully, in the coming years the retiring Filipinos will opt to retire in their former home country since the diaspora of the professionals during the era of dictatorship is long past.

My Filipina wife and I are nurses in Florida. We plan to retire to Cebu in 10 years in our mid 50s. America assisted living can cost well over $5k a month and if you need skilled nursing it will cost much more.

Additionally in the US there are also instances of elder abuse at assisted living facilities by the staff - sometimes physical, sometimes just disrespect. So it would be worth it just to have a kind staff taking care of your loved one.

Thailand has HUGE resort-style assisted living facilities. - Far less expensive than those in the West. - A full range of services from limited to full-time nursing.

Thank you Dan for making this video. This is an import aspect of expat life. As she said, even though we are having fun now, we will need assistance at some point. (That is, if we don't get sucked into the mother ship while standing on our feet.) Actually I have all my hopes pinned on the latter scenario. I think it will be a great service to your audience if you can make more videos on this topic. Perhaps show some other facilities in Philippines. I went to Kuching after watching one of your videos and I was told by the locals that you can get top notch care is Sarawak for about $2,500USD. I think there is another gentleman who was showing very nice, large, senior care facilities in Thailand. I don't remember the co$t. Having known Filipinos for a long time, knowing all the Filipina nurses in the US, and being able to receive care in English; I think Philippines is an ideal place for affordable serious care.
