I built this table out of 3 types of wood: old growth Douglas Fir, western red cedar and yellow cedar. The top is end grain construction and nearly 4" thick. The base is secured together with a total of 8 castle joints and 2 half lap cross joints. Enjoy the build!

Beautiful craftsmanship! My late Dad was a woodworker. He always said "You can Never have enough Clamps."
  • The ending is the best. It is truly priceless when it brings the family together like that. Beautiful table. The pattern is truly remarkable.

I don’t know what’s more impressive, the extremely creative designs he’s put in the wood or how fast this guy can actually work😊😊😊
  • @qapla
Not only is that one impressive table ... the amount of wood in his shop is staggering!

What a fortunate child, to grow up looking at that pattern, knowing dad made it. God bless you guys.

Love the fact that each density of wood has it's own tone.

Just happened across this video, so glad I did! What a unique piece. Didn't see the design until you shelaced it, what a surprise! Love the style of base you chose, reminds me of traditional Japanese Tenon and mortise.

This is not a table. This is art, under the form of a table! Incredible!
  • @gadi1369
Simply stunning! Well done! Thank you for sharing in condensed form!

There aren't words to describe the time, skill and creativity that went into this piece. You are a Master craftsman, the Michaelangelo of Wood. If I had a Wood Museum I would commission you to put one of your pieces in it. Of note, the video was amazing. No music, no talking just a pure build that was self-instruction step by step. What an amazing gift you have and are!
