When you meet Shirley,over a period of years,in your work, as I did.I worked at The Dorchester Hotel,and served/met her on many occasions,and I (and the other staff) became a part of her extended family,and she treated us like that too.I went(with some colleagues) to this concert,with tickets(best front row seats) given to us by Shirley.We had drinks and canapes after in her dressing room.Offstage Shirley is an ordinary,kind,thoughtful,quiet person (with a great & risque sense of humour).I have many great memories of my time at The Dorchester (many film stars etc) but they are dwarfed by my memories of Shirley.
