Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

As a straight white male from Ireland, I can honestly say this is one of the most inpressive ladies I've ever come across. Intelligent, humorous, elegant... what more could you ask for? A fitting partner for her equally impressive husband. sadly american bipartisanship will never allow her to flourish but i hope she knows the the educated world is blown away by her 👏👏

Watching this from the UK, I find it difficult to understand why so many republicans have such a visceral dislike of this lady, she comes across as charming, down to earth and sincere.....everything you'd want in a first lady.

As a well educated, well read, cultured, middle aged, white woman in the central south, she is one of my biggest hero’s. I think of her words and EXAMPLE often. When others go low, I aim high. I’ve missed her terribly as First Lady and was ecstatic over “Becoming.” What a prize she is for America. What a gem. ❤️🤟🏻😍
