Non-violent cat welcomes unexcited puppy to his new home

it's really interesting watching them interact- when the puppy is overstimulated, the cat gives them space. when the cat is overstimulated and ducks under the wall, the puppy lies down and gives them space in return. no yelps or anything so clearly no claws or too hard of play. they're a great pair

Had a dog that needed a companion after her older step brother passed away. So I went to a pet store that adopted out kittens. Brought the dog of course. Went into a waiting room with the dog. They had one litter and I told the guy to randomly grab one kitten. First one he brought in, saw the dog, hissed and clawed the employees arm. He took it really well. The second one, purred and was rubbing up against my dogs leg. They became lifelong friends. Cats and dogs are individuals just like humans. How they are raised or where they come from doesn't outweigh their natural personalities.
