The look of pure anger Ani flashed Mace when he said he would not be trained was one of Jake Lloyd's best moments in the movie.

I once wrote that Ian McDiarmid was the most underrated actor in all of Star Wars and I’m still getting hate comments for posting that to this day

Honestly, my favourite performance is Ian McDiarmid as Darth Sidious. He might not have that much screen time or do that much physically, but there was a massive difference between Darth Sidious pre Mace Windu duel and Darth Sidious post Mace Windu duel. McDiarmid perfectly transitioned into the deformed Sidious, making it look so easy. Why didn't this man win an Oscar? Seriously
  • fun fact, when Maul reveals himself, the actors did not know what he was going to look like and their reaction is genuine. A bit like John Hurt in Alien

BEST 'Easter egg': at end of credits, music is "Imperial March" followed by sound of Vader breathing
  • My favorite performance Ewan McGregor in Revenge of the Sith, particularly when he breaks down over the course of the film, starting from a master showing how happy he is to have trained his student who became like a brother to him, to trying to bring him back after first denying what happened to him, and finally snaps when Anakin is reduced to his state in the finale of their battle

I never saw the reason for the hate Jake got. He was great in Ep.1, especially for a child actor considering they usually aren't very good actors due to their lack of experience. I'd wholeheartedly accept him coming back to acting some day and I hope he considers it
  • Darth Maul pulling his saber out of Qui-Gon Jinn’s chest is the most metal scene in all of Star Wars.
  • I don't even know how many times I've watched all of the Star Wars movies. I was 10 when the original movie came out in 1977, and I've loved (almost) every entry since. While many in my age group were disappointed in the Prequel Trilogy, I absolutely loved them. I never understood the hate thrown at both Jake Lloyd and Ahmed Best. They did the exact job that George Lucas wanted them to do. Hell, even in Episode II, Hayden Christensen caught a lot of undeserved hatred. The problem was that some fans couldn't see the forest for the trees in the way. He was SUPPOSED to be an angsty teenager who was being told to repress his feelings for a certain someone, despite everything pushing them together (including, now doubt, The Force itself). But back to Episode I..... the Podrace was quite exciting, young Anakin leaving his mother was emotionally charged, Duel of the Fates was some of the finest music ever put into a movie, and those of us who had read the original books already knew Palpatine was the Sith Lord hiding in plain sight. Also, despite knowing that politics played a huge role in his rise to power..... many in my generation bitched up a storm about it. It was stupid.

David Prowse was fantastic, using only body language to give us the menace of the original Darth Vader
  • @Deuteromis
Lucas true isn't good when it comes to directing people, but visually he's a master. Also that space battle over Naboo is straight up better any space battle in The Sequels.

This man really just said duel of the fates is the best when the duel on mustafar exists

I went to see it with my wife and our two sons - my 5 year old loved Anakin. He left the cinema saying he was Anakin and he wanted to podrace. Jake Lloyd did a really good job and he was just a kid.

Jake Lloyd’s childhood innocence absolutely sold the scene of Anakin leaving his mother on tattooine. If that was some 14 year old kid with an attitude, it wouldn’t work.
  • I have always loved the prequels and their magic and most of my fave characters are from that era. Personally I have ignored all the haters who can't appreciate all the great that came from these films and the setup for the later more darker films and moments. I remember seeing the podrace for the first time and thinking I had never seen anything like that before on the big screen back then and appreciated the expansion of the SW universe.

What’s crazy is that I watched this movie last night at AMC 14 in LA and nowhere in the theater did they have a single poster of this movie.
  • 7:38 the two novels about Maul are really good too. His backstory is further flushed out in Lockdown and Shadow Hunter.
  • @Keithatninjago
I can't believe ppl were hating on jar jar and jake, like why i mean just bc he wasnt that aggressive on screen doesn't mean he wasnt off screen bc if they watch the deleted scenes, they can see Anakin was actually being Anakin and on screen its just showing that Anakin was following his mothers kindness path and after leaving he got kinda mad and sad, i mean and one of the deleted scenes is anakin throwing hands over a kid saying he cheated during the pod race.

I'll say the voice actor for Captain Tarples and Brian Blessed did the heavy lifting for me in the 'suspension of disbelief' department
