I've been travelling fulltime since 2017. Here is an update on what I've taken with me over the past 4 years. I have everything refined now so it suits my need no matter where I am in the world. Hopefully, this will give you a few ideas when we're all ready to get back travelling; maybe this year? :)

Book Recommendations:

1. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo (Konmari)

2. A Monk's Guide to a Clean House and Mind by Shoukei Matsumoto

3. How to Sit by Thich Nhat Hanh

Amazing. Sitting at work watching Youtube videos about minimalism, travel, and one-bag living....... makes me want to quit. Alas, my skillset binds me to this location.

appreciate the detail of you writing every item when they're laid out. And showing what you took for the short trip as well. Love videos like this. Foldable sunglasses is a genius idea. Never thought of that.

I'd already say I'm a minimalist who travels, but honestly this is life goals. I hope to be in a similar position in 10 years time.
  • That is actually one of the best packing video on yt. No bs. I've travelled a lot lately (business), but didn't have to keep it all that clean. I had 23kg luggage everytime etc, but I optimized my packing everytime and it really improved over the last half a year. I can imagine yours is almost perfect by now. Toothpaste pills is my discovery here! Thanks for this! Good luck mate

Excellent video Michael—thank you for sharing! - Tom
  • Toothpaste pills are such a great invention! Much less waste and higher packing density. Love them.
  • Good to see you again, i was waiting for an update since 2017, from your "everything i own" video ! We look for another amazing video ! Keep up!

Michael. Best minimalist packing video I’ve seen.
  • @PackingLess
Very nice packing list, I'll have to check out those glasses. The dopp kit looks interesting too

I love that you have a PlayStation controller. At first I thought, surely that's a bit unecessary and takes up a lot of space! Then you explained why you have it :) totally worth it. Also, is it a Hull accent I hear?
  • @RPM_Desto
As a black man i’m afraid to do this because people would think i’m HOMELESS🤣🤣
  • @MsFlyWhale
Chinese parents and relatives always worry about you being too less, such as one cooker, and as the younger generations, we have to release their worries by agreeing with them. Having a fight for saving spaces right before a trip isn’t good either. Some even wait in airport to check if their kids can add more items into their luggage 🤣 Wanna try one bag travel one day next time when I travel abroad (done it domestically by sneaking out from home 😂 they really reduced thru time!

Very helpful perspective - both what you carry and the four categories - as I plan to go nomadic in the next year or so. Question: How many liters is your current bag, and what is your typical loaded bag weight? Many thanks!
  • I love shirts colors and foldable sunglasses and the organisation.. playstation fr dad ❤️
  • @vnktravi
Excellent Video, glad that I stumbled across. good tips as well
  • This video serves as an important reminder. Maybe I don’t need all my “stuff,” maybe I just need to travel more
  • @chrispnw2547
It may be time to do a video update. With many airlines adopting a 7kg weight limit for all carry-on items and only underseat bag for free, an updated travel strategy may be warranted.

Good info, keep going with good content, all the best.
