Cake is a lie. There is only pie. Through pie I gain calorie. Through calorie I gain weight. Through weight I gain mass. Through mass my belt is broken. The couch will set me free.

One major flaw with Darth Bane"s rule of two is what happens if both of them get killed without a apprentice to carry it on? The student tries to kill the master and they both die in the battle, or even just a random accident when they are traveling together. Or some Jedi have a really good day…

Peace is a lie. There is only passion. Through passion I gain strength. Through strength I gain power. Through power I gain victory. Through victory my chains are broken. The Force will set me free.

I really like the Eternal Empire and basically every Sith Order until the Rule of Two. They may have had some of the most interesting Sith in this time, but this doesn't change the massive logical flaws the concept has. It's like they activly tried to search for the one solution against infighting, that comes with the most drawbacks. It is seen as smart, because it worked, but it honestly had to, for the story to work.

I don't care what the Rat house says. This is, and will be forever, canon.

I'm not first I'm not last but most importantly No one asked

The true sith are my favorite but that's because of Tennabrae/Vitiate/Valkorian, whatever you want to call him, and that I absolutely adore the Eternal Empire and the lore surrounding it.

Thank you for bringing us a succinct overview of the Sith.

These eras are the best , when there were armies of Jedi and Sith to follow. Think the decision to only have like two sith max and barley any Jedi is just limiting the story , look at Kotor . Amazing potential story lines.
  • The only thing people feared more than the Sith, not having the high ground in a fight.

U could've mentioned the one sith which was ruled by Darth krayyt decades after the galactic civil war and even well past the death of luke skywalker. They took over territory in the outer rim and operated out of korriban with their ideology being the worship of and servitude to darth krayyt alone, hence the name the rule of "one" sith.

"Hmmst, our constant infighting is causing us to lose. Clearly the solution isn't to stop infighting and instead kill all but 2. I am very intelligent." - Darth Bane

Sith species: exist Jedi: no I don't think you will

I have some questions, what was Darth Vitiate doing while Darth Nihlius was making his reigns? Did they know of each other? Nihlius threatened ALL life of the galaxy so I'm sure Vitiate had to have had some type of input or something right? Or did the creators just ignore each respective characters existed and thats why we hear no mentions of them interacting like we hear mentions of Revan Malak and Vitiate? Just curious !!!
  • Hey Geetsly, thanks for making my comment about the poor Lancer Battalion the comment of the week!
  • One key problem with the Sith was that they all were pretty self-destructive. That's because the dark side nourishes on death, destruction and suffering, which makes every organization using this power prone to turn on itself to spread all of this.

Excellent short history. Would love for you to go more into detail on these, & definitely cover the off-shoots you didn't. I feel like Bane's Rule of Two saved the Sith at the time but also (thousands of years later?) led to it's downfall - a theme often seen in real history.
