The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray ($150,316 starting with lux tax in Canada, $106,595 starting in the US) is a brand new all-wheel drive corvette with a rather interesting drivetrain. It has an electric motor that powers the front wheels exclusively and a stingray’s 6.2L V8 powering the rear. Combined they make a powerful 655 horsepower and Chevy claims a lightning fast 0-60mph time of just 2.5 seconds. But who is the prospective buyer of an E-Ray according to Chevrolet? And how is it to drive and live with, especially in regards to its similarly priced but much more riotous Z06 counterpart? Thomas and James are excited to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode. James' wit and observation skills is faster than a z06. Coming up with that cor- Vette joke and observing the synchronous clap in real time is crazy sharp. Always fun listening to these 2.
  • "It's a corolla in the front and a vette in the back.. put it together it's a corvette😂😂😂. Then Thomas's late reaction.😂 amazing video guys.
  • @Ramsey_Pahl
I think they did a perfect job electrifying the corvette, even with all the downsides. I would 100% buy the zo6, but as a hybrid stingray, it’s pretty good

The editor for the "definition of hybrid" bit had me rolling, thanks for the work all of your employees do to continue to bring these videos to the masses and for giving me something to watch while I eat my Mcdonalds in the morning

1:37 "It's a Corolla in the front and a Vette in the back, which if you put together is a Cor-Vette- oh." Synchronous clap I live for this moment.

The fact that this video is Extra Throttle house and not even a "real" produced and scripted video is so impressive. Listening to them talking about this feels so natural. Just good!
  • @ryangansner2162
That Corolla in the front and Vette in the back joke was incredible. Well done.
  • @Ramsey_Pahl
Thomas and James give us more info in 11 minutes than normal people do in an hour, and funnier😂😂
  • @jordan4328
Pricing includes carbon ceramic brakes for the E-ray. Add that option to the z06 and the pricing difference grows.

Who the hell is editing a Extra Throttle House upload! 😂 Seriously guys, i LOVE both of your channels. You make me laugh amd giggle everytime, besides the wonderful production quality! Cheers from Vienna , Austria boys, keep up the fantastic work

James' comical wit is pro level and Thomas' enjoyment of said wit makes the whole thing so fun to watch
  • @mikelewis2456
You forget you automatically get carbon ceramic breaks and save about $3k on gas guzzler tax. Thats about 13k difference already between Z06 and Eray🤔
  • @KLONRadio
The difference between this and a Z06 is the same between a 911 Turbo S and a GT3 RS. Very similar price tag, completely different use and customer target.
  • @estern001
I had not even considered this to be the Chevy NSX Type S, but you're exactly right. Now I want Honda to build the Acura Z06.
  • @ruk2023--
Back in the 1970's there was a British car called the Austin Allegro which objectively a terrible car but it had a quartic steering wheel which was so roundly mocked by the press and public that they changed it to a round one. 50 years later and the squared off wheel is everywhere.

I really love how the Cockpit and Interior looks, it legit covers you in with all kinds of buttons and screens pointing towards you making it feel like a spaceship, they do interior better than most other Supercars
  • @thomaskief1752
I agree the car belongs on the main channel. I also don’t understand why the carbon ceramic brakes were not mentioned at all in the entire video. They come standard on the E-Ray which accounts for a good portion of the additional money.
