I think he was just jelly of this new Joker. I don't think Joaquin phoenix is a method actor I don't remember but it just shows you that you can play a character without having to necessarily be the character in reality.

Jared loses himself in film yes, but he evens says "I am only truly me when I am on stage". As someone whose seen and met Jared many times, yeah he is just a calm dude that loves to meet and talk to people

I personally have no problem with method acting if anything it gets me to appreciate how much work went into the role however much like Robert pattinson I definitely can identify that it can go too far whether it's being an a-hole on the set like Leto or it pushes the limits like what happened with heath ledger
