WHATS IN THE BOX? ITALERI 6450, 1/35; SD ANHANGER 51, WEHRMACHT TRAILER SET. KIT REVIEW No. 81.

Published 2024-05-05
I hope you enjoy this video. This is my eighty first "WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow Youtubers, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic Youtube skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.

Follow me on my novice modelling journey whilst I try desperately to overcome my midlife crisis. Questions and suggestions always welcome. Please like and subscribe and follow me on my ride!

A collection of very nice kits there, think the champagne 🍸🍸 kit deserves a look👀👀
  • Hi Andy. These are nice little kits and you get two, bonus. These trailers would have been commonally seen behind a Sd Kfz 10 half track.Especially the one with the 2cm flak on the back, they are primerilly ammunition trailers. I don,y know if you noticed but the chassis for the trailer was also the trailer for the same 2cm flak gun as well. There are two hooks at the end of the arms and a locking pin at the front of the trailer which enabled the gun to be deposited on the ground and picked up again for transport. The Horch with the twin anti air guns on board would work and also the Krupp Protze small six wheel truck would suit. The two Steyr's would be unlikely but not impossible. The Jeeps also would be unlikely as they had their own dedicated trailer for the job. The SAS Jeep would also be unlikely unless it was war booty. None the lessI suppose anything is possible in war so you do what please's you. You have two so why not do one prototypically and one as a what if so to speak. Italeri do three different types of Sd.Kfz 10s including one with the 2cm flak. The Horch could also mount the 2cm flak as well so maybe you could hitch it up to that if you get the Tamiya kit of the gun. Anyway these kits will always be useful. I think that the cannisters in the trailer are 2cm flak shell holders. I hope some of this helps innyour future build of these models. Good luck. I look forward to seeing you finish off some of the Rising Sun aircraft. Regards.

Andy, you're going to be busy when you get these 1/35 kits started. Nice looking Italleri kits, I don't see them that much, might have to check them out Cheers, Bob
  • Hi Andy agin. Those magazines are not to clear to see but they look like the curved magazines that go on a Flakweirling four gun 2cm anti aircraft guns. Its a shame that Italeri don,t do these little trailers in 1 72 scale, they would be very useful to us small scale modellers. Good luck bud.
  • How's the dirty dozen coming along...any finished yet?... I'm making the Matchbox Spitfire nice kit 👍
