Gotta love John, makes the videos more entertaining/interesting. The thing is he's learning, rather than sitting in front of a game console 24/7, he's kind of learning a trade. John you are awesome buddy....ok, we will let the missing nut problem slide this time....I've had them get stuck in sockets like that and have a heck of a time getting them back out and have to rethread them onto the bolt a little to get it back out of the socket. No worries John you got this. Neil, why is John being blamed for your missing duct tape LOL....I know how that is, I've got a couple of teenage cousins, well even earlier on any duct tape that wasn't locked up somehow grew legs and wandered off LOL. Had to laugh when the tire shot off the bench though, knew that was gonna happen. Lawn and garden tires and low profile tires are the worst tires to try and dismount and mount. I hate messing with both.

That looked like so much fun,I can't wait for you to change the front tire. Please be sure to share that adventure.I could use another good 20 minutes of laughter. Maybe an adapter made of 'all-thread' to go through the axle holes to pin it down? Maybe you 'shoulda' thought of that before, and it 'coulda' been an easier job? ;) Happy 4th of Freedom everyone !

I changed the tires on my baja doodlebug a while back it has the same rims and a couple of tips: 1 take small bites with the spoons. 2 when your trying to seat the bead with a not squished tire take the valve core out and use the female end of your quick connector on the air hose and press it on the valve stem and that moves a ton of air and will normally seat the bead. If you have a squished tire put a tube in it and air it up to open up the tire and lay it out in the hot sun for a couple days and that should unsquish it enough to make it easier to mount and seat. Mini bikes are fun watching this makes me wanna get my baja Warrior out and rip around.
  • When swapping treads on the mini bike tires, like John's, I found it's easiest to place two 2x4 underneath the rim to help give you stability when trying to slide the tire onto the rim. It helps keep the protruding rim off the ground and helps keep it free from damage. Videos are awesome man, I love the work! 🤘🤘🤘

I find working with lawn tractor tires I use a piece of all thread with washers and nuts tightened in a vise helps stabilize the rim during the mounting process

I bought a tire changer from harbor freight that works well on small tires for bikes and lawn tractors . Hurt my shoulder before I wised up and bought it .
  • 30 tears of racing MX, changing numerous tires, at the shop and in the field, I still suck at it and I have had professional mx mechanics tech me. Although, I have used a c-clamp to hold or attempt to crimp the one side of tire together to keep it under the rim, with varying levels of success and failure. So what I am saying is, I spend 20 at the tire shop and save the sweat and swear words for another project.
  • Good job on the tire it it takes me a lot longer yall have good mouth of July weekend
  • I always use a tiny vise grips locked onto the lip of the wheel to hold the starting point then use the bars to work my way around. 60 percent of the time it works every time

Awesome video God Bless you and your family Amen
  • I use two pair of vice grips for small wheels a bolt in a vise gives you control of the w h e e l
  • If you put a ratchet strap around the middle of the tire it pulls it to the outside of the bead and helps you air it up better. Also could you possibly make a video on how to cut turf saver mower tires without power tools please?
