Indian BrahMos missile systems are on their way to the Philippines, New Delhi and Manila announce stepping up maritime and defense cooperation, and India’s foreign minister says that New Delhi backs the Philippines “upholding its sovereignty” in matters of the sea. We ask about their growing ties, whether India will play a greater role in the South China Sea, and what this means for India’s relations with China. As New Delhi commissions the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh and Beijing renames 30 locations in the disputed region, we ask what’s next for the world’s longest border dispute.

  • Chinese logic: Its our territory since ancient times. Then why they didnt call themselves Mongolian? China is Mongolia's territory in ancient time.

as a filipino, i always see india as very valuable ally. i saw their approach on things when watching international news and i feel like philippine government can learn so much from india. they are a reclaiming country like the philippines, and courageous and capable on their own. i hope one day, philippines grow up to be like them and stop treating PRC like a bestfriend when they are only taking us for granted and just want to milk our resources for their own benefit.

India, despite being an economic power, fosters goodwill, peace and stability in the region. Thank you, India for the BrahMos and the upgrade of our defense capabilities. Also,Philippines will never forget how the Indian Navy risked their lives to rescue our seafarers, when the cargoship, MV True Confidence, was missile-attacked by the Houthis at the Gulf of Aden last month.RESPECT.🇵🇭❤❤❤🇮🇳
  • India and the Philippines are both victims of China's thuggery and thievery. The economies of the two countries are now among the the fastest growing in the whole world. Both are democracies with huge populations. It makes great sense for India and the Philippines to deepen and strengthen their political, economic, and defense cooperation. The Philippines is the first foreign country to purchase and deploy India's Brahmos Missile System. The cost was nearly 400 USD, the biggest single arms export of India to date. The Philippines will be needing more of the missile system in the face of increasing and more violent Chinese aggression in the SCS/WPS.
