I love the little details like alara being a little bit weirded out or annoyed by her mom’s gift instead of being in awe of it. I feel like she loves her mom but maybe her having a gift caused some issues for alara in the past, so she’s a little bit iffy around the topic? I feel like it makes them feel more connected that way, like actual family.
