Suppressed without Baffles || Vanquish by Angstadt Arms

Published 2024-06-03
Angstadt Arms has been known to produce high quality and high value 9mm rifles. The Vanquish is their spin on integrally suppressed. However, It really doesnt have much in the way of a suppressor. It is legally a suppressor but it doesn't use baffles. Instead, the team at Angstadt has ported the barrel liberally and incased it in a tube. This serves both to vent the gas like a traditional suppressor, but it also decreases the operating pressure of the round. reducing its velocity. This makes it among the cheapest guns to shoot. Have a bunch of junky ammo? It will run better than the premium subsonic stuff.

I’ll be adding chapters to this video and will be updating this comment for those who are missing stuff because of their ADD. I understand, it is a long video. If you have a question it is likely answered in the video but I will also update the pinned comment with valuable insights you bring to my attention that were either missed or cut for time. Edit: The MP5SD is a POS stamped sheet metal and trunnion gun. It is super finicky, over complicated, over priced, and over hyped. It is an outdated design made desirable through artificial scarcity due to HK’s unprincipled stance on the right to keep and bear arms. I will not participate in bootlicker culture of which HK products are a status symbol. I do not consider them to exist.

This gun solves a really ridiculous problem which is people somehow charging more money for putting less explosive into the cartridge.
  • @Mantitude
Ah, we've come back full circle to the MP5SD, huh?

The VSO Gun Channel Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
  • I’m offering an integrally suppressed ready uppers myself and they work with MP5SD handguards and suppressors. They were recently featured on Forgotten Weapons and are called CAR-15 SD’s. I couldn’t help but notice the BAR barrel nut the Vanquish uses! My CAR-15 SD handguard assembly uses the same barrel nut and would look and feel great on the Vanquish! Great video as usual!

Not exactly my cup of tea as far as the concept goes, but gaht dayum that thing is beautiful. The machining is gorgeous down to the minute detail. Even just the "checkering" on the mag and bolt release, down to the corners of the handguard, etc. Everywhere you look is just fantastically precise. Work of art indeed.

I am so glad I went with the B@T APC9 Pro when the first Angstad failure came out.
  • Could you do a short where you test frangible ammo and maybe federal syntec coated ammo? Im curious if the jacket shaving might effect different projectiles worse, and a lot of ranges are now requiring frangible for any steel targets.
  • @HammondArmory
Looks like a cool idea. I don't think the port threads will last very long before they get clogged up. I really like the idea of adding a baffle or 2. It would probably be a huge improvement in sound and flash reduction...
  • @izzyg7059
This is good news. I’m keeping my eye on this one
  • @dogmush
If you are going to have an SBR anyway, why not shorten the barrel and have some baffles like an MP5SD? It'd be better for velocity, sound suppression, and flash.
  • Seems like it's fairly high back pressure for what it is. Have they tried maybe putting some holes in the front washer with maybe some mesh in there to cool/slow down the gas like the really old SMG can designs?
  • Angstadt could have knocked it out of the park if they'd have done this to their Roller-delayed, side charging, Bufferless MD-9. I'd at least love to see if this baffle-less suppressor idea would work with a CMMG Radia delayed Bolt & Barrel. MD-9 + reliability increase + Vaquish System + Ambi controls + Scorpion Mags( reliable + paddle releases = cool) = MY dream AR9. The Wraithworks Warscorp9 has the side-charging, ambi controls, and Scorpion mags/Paddle but I haven't seen anyone reputable review it yet. Warscorp9 + DFA underfolder/CMMG Banshee bolt/Barrel drilled and threaded for a form-1ed titanium solvent trap could be a cool little Frankenstein too.

If you wanted to add ablative material, I'd separate the tube and squeeze in some wire pulling gel.
