Him being the last ronin makes the most sense actually. Master Splinter did say that if he ever truly focused and got serious, he would be the best out of all of them.

Technically Mikey was the “first” turtle ever created (drawn as a joke that lead to the creation of the TMNT), so it’s really fitting that he be the last.

Raphael himself said “If Mikey was more serious he’d be stronger than all of us”. And splinter said “Michelangelo has the most potential”.

I imagine at the end of the comic series, Mikey finds four baby rats that were exposed to toxic waste, and he raises them the same way Splinter raised him and his brothers.

Mikey is the best choice because it shows how he has changed as a chacter he’s not the same Mickey he is much different which makes for a much more interesting story

Michelangelo is the best choice for a story like this. For me, he's always been the most varied in emotion of the group and it makes me really excited to see how they develop his character with his brothers gone.

I used to watch TMNT when I was a lot younger back in the 90s but always been a fan, crazy how far the story has come for us older fans.

You have to pay attention to the tone of the message when he grabs each weapon. 1) When he grabbed the BO STAFF, he considered Donatello's reasoning. 2) When he grabbed the SAI, he displayed Raphael's "no nonsense" attitude. 3) When he grabbed the KATANTA, he renews his focus as Leonardo would.

I love how they chose the goofy and joker of the team. It's like, he is Batman now... A once cheerful lad but because of a tragic incident, the once joker of team becomes a badass lone avenger...

The easy easter egg that it was Mikey was his lack of stealth like Leo, driving the hover car which Donny would have figured out, and his anger like Ralph is more mourning than rage.

I also thought it was Raphael, but then I realized that Raph is the angry one....there would've been a lot of dead bodies if he were The Last Ronin. Only Mickey, the empathetic one, would be so overcome with grief, guilt, loneliness and depression that he would go in without a well thought out plan and decide to end it after failing his mission.
