One of the reasons I like Joe B is he doesn't seem to want to be a "star". He's a great musician and loves what he's doing.
  • One thing I particularly appreciate about JB, besides his art. He never forgets to point out his influences and thus pays respect to the numerous other legends. That makes him humanly approachable and testifies to greatness of character.

Love the man's music, and him as an honest human being.

I'm not Joe-level but I used to call it "talking to God". There were moments in solos when it was euphoric, when I played things I really didn't know how to play but my fingers followed a melody in my mind that just happened. I closed my eyes and it was just there. That feeling was better than sex because you got another chance to feel it again minutes later in the next song. I imagine that's why I played music for 45 years. There was always a chance to be the best you could be, every minute of a 4 hr gig however many nights a week for 30 yrs on the road. It's better than drugs or sex. I miss playing out and probably never will again but if I could I would in a NY minute. Thanks Joe for the inspiration and the humility...
  • Joe is the reason I picked up a guitar at age 43. I’m enjoying these interviews. Thanks
  • I love that Joe mentioned Albert Collins. The “Ice Man” was a fantastic bluesman and one of the best outright entertainer.

If you want to know how hard this guy works when on stage then go watch his performance on PBS IN 2017 CALLED EVENING OF ACOUSTICS. It’s on you tube. Unbelievably talented person. No wonder why Clapton excepted, he knows honest hard working talent. Outstanding interview Joe.

Much respect Joe.  You have an incredible gift.  Thanks for sharing it with us.
  • Such a gentleman, respectful, patient, helpful and without a single bit of obnoxious pride. Is anyone really sure that he’s actually interviewing an iconic blues rock guitarist lol. Love ya Joe!

"I'm up on the stage dressed up like a stunt double from the matrix" love it! :)

I enjoy him and cant believe I missed out on many years of Joe. And so thankful that someone Tim Crawford introduced me to this awesome music!
  • Just when you think great rock n roll and the blues players was something in the water back in the day, along comes Joe Bonamassa. Thank you sir 🙏 The water is still good.
  • This is why I love your channel Joe. You take music and musicians seriously, including blues and guitar blues which is my favorite music. Joe. B of course is one of the blues and guitar greats. His description that the blues greats and their music was "hiding in plain site" is spot on. Thank GAWD somebody found them. Thx. again.

i saw joe at the rah, great gig, but i could really see just how nervous he was, it was great that e.c joined him, joe has really earned his respect.
  • Well, you did it again. This 25-minute segment took me 3+ hours to watch - I had to get a feel for the Royal Albert Hall and Red Rocks concerts and ended up watching most of both! Another great interview.
  • I agree with Joe. As soon as I started listening to EJ my my guitar compass instantly recalibrated. Awesome.

Thank you Joe for keeping the guitar alive...in a world where it seems to be waning.

I am not to familiar with Joe B.'s music, but I like his enthusiasm, and it is nice to see that. He seems like a sincere, and genuine guy that is passionate about what he does.
  • @ArmyofLove
Good point made about how good Joe is. It just blows us away. He plays tough and gentle. Sings tough and gentle. Very interesting feel for style and music too.
