"One of the most popular Disney animated musicals, The Lion King presents the story of a lion cub's journey to adulthood and acceptance of his royal destiny. Simba begins life as an honored prince, the son of the powerful King Mufasa. The cub's happy childhood turns tragic when his evil uncle, Scar, murders Mufasa and drives Simba away from the kingdom. In exile, the young lion befriends the comically bumbling pair of Pumbaa the warthog and Timon the meerkat, he and lives a carefree jungle life. Nostalgia hits harder than ever, not only was my dad born in Tanzania and I was born in Uganda, but Brings me back to when I came to America and used to go over to my grandma (mom’s side of the family) and grandpa’s house, as kids, we’d stay the night or something like that, while mom went to work and we’d turn on Lion King, we’d watch it over what seemed to be a billion times. Those were the good old days.
