Anne Hathaway talks to BBC Radio 1's film critic Ali Plumb in part 2 of this interview from our archives. They discuss the film that landed her an Oscar, Les Misérables, and her work with Director Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar. She reveals how she originally thought she was going to be playing Harley Quinn, rather than Catwoman, and how she felt singing the iconic I Dreamed A Dream in Les Mis. Plus, how she endured what Matt Damon described as the worst costume ever.

I loved Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman. She played a real criminal, not a cartoon character, and her presence on screen was fantastic. I loved her style, she made long hair work with the character. The first time I was ever watching Catwoman more than Batman in any pairing I had seen before.

Her cat woman was sooo classy, it was exquisite. She truly represents the power of beauty.

Dark Knight Rises and Les Misérables came out the same year and it was crystal clear to me what a legendary actress she is.
  • My only problem with her Catwoman was not enough screen time or an origin
  • The "Oops" scene is totally my favorite in that movie. With a single word and tiniest shift of her shoulders, she does a completely believable 180. I fell completely in love with the character in that moment.

The woman she’s talking about in the powder room, that’s Kate winslet

Dude I'm soo curious what a Chris Nolan's Harley Quinn would be like

She seems so down to earth and has an amazing sense of humor. What an amazing woman she is! Edit: and such a professional :)

She's THE definition of Classy Woman. I love her.

Anyone who complains about her Catwoman is dead wrong. She was amazing. She’s the only reason worth watching The Dark Knight Rises

"- three days of running in water in Matt Damon's least favorite costume."

She needs to be on Hot Ones. She needs some spicy wings with Sean.

I've loved Anne hatheway since princess diaries, she's beautiful, kind, real and extremely talented ❤️
  • I love the scene in The Dark Knight when she enters the restaraunt with The missing Senator & when asked "you brought a date?" she answers "I like having someone around to open doors for me". Then rather elegantly plops herself down in that little black dress. Love Michelle P. but Anne's Catwoman was EVERYTHING.

I saw Les Miserables in the theatre and I saw her performance, I said to my wife that Anne's gonna win an Oscar with that role. And she did. She's simply stunning.

Has internet stopped hating Anne. I always loved her but remember how a few years ago 'every body hates Anne Hathaway was a thing?'
