And his biggest legacy will be continuing to push the standard of tennis higher while competing with not one, but 2 exceptional successors despite being 5-5.5 years elder. Records may be broken, but his impact and style are forever etched in the history of tennis. Truly the Greatest Tennis Player of All Time. Farewell, Maestro. This is what was so fantastic. Whether winning or losing, at the start of a match or the end, you were never too far away from the next beautiful shot.

In thise backhand slice disguises, one has to remember also those nasty slice returns he did, especially on clay and grass, where the opponent expected a deep slice return, only to be bamboozled by Roger with a sublime drop shot. Truly a maestro.

What a journey it has been to watch this man play. I love watching FEDERER play.🎉

I think you could also add The Half Volley shot of Roger. He was a master of it and sometimes people can't do anything about it.

Unmatched creativity and skill. Roger is the reason I wanted to pick up a racquet. I'm so grateful to have seen him play in person, always unforgettable.

While people have commonly (and rightly) described Alcaraz as a scary hybrid of the Big 3, his game reminds me most of Roger. It’s that unwavering and courageous instinct to attack and end the point. Never looking to draw the error, always looking to kill it. That’s the tennis the world loves and will always love. It’s why they love Roger and why Carlitos has more fans than any of the young guns.
