Today I'm testing out three cooling products in three different price ranges: a $15 cooling spray, a $60 neck fan, and a $105 ice vest. I also wanted to mention that the neck fan lasted over 4 hours on one charge, and takes a couple of hours to charge.

Also (because I know such comments will happen) I don't force Bailey to be outside with me in the heat. I always leave one of my back doors open while filming and she comes and goes as she pleases. She just likes to hang around me when I'm outside. :)

Non-paid review. Purchased to use on a daily basis while working in the summer youtube.com/post/UgkxLaBdDhW8qNMDGbjLY54iyU3q9BJyd… blowing into safety glasses so they don't fog up. Comfortable wearing around the neck. Not heavy at all nor does it slide around much. Easy to turn on and off. It's a solid construction with a slight flex in the middle. Doesn't feel cheap although the body is made of plastic. The battery currently runs over 8 hours on the low fan setting and takes USB C plugs to charge. Noise level is fairly mild and wind strength is good even in low setting. Only down side is if you wear contacts, it'll dry out your eyes since it's blowing up into your face. I flipped the vents down but this doesn't help de-fog safety goggles when I'm sweating. Definitely worth it over other fan types.

You use those evaporative cooling products in somewhere like Florida, and you'd tear it off in 10-15 minutes because it would never evaporate, and it would just become hot and soggy. They're terrible in very humid environments. In 70-80% humidity, you walk outside and you're instantly sweating because of all the water in the air.

Whenever I have to wear a suit I put a reusable ice pack in each inner chest pocket. They are unnoticeable from the outside and I get about 2-3 hours of very effective cooling and an additional hour of mediocre cooling before they are warm. Perfect for summer weddings.

An ice vest lasting over an hour in 100+ desert heat seems pretty impressive to me, honestly.

4:39 You look like a custom character from GTA 5.
  • You raised a really good son. He's very respectful and you seem to have a good relationship.

The neck fans you normally find them in make up departments as they stop they person sweating when doing makeup in live studios. Make life easier for them and keeps you cooler before you hit the live screen. I enjoy mine but I have one of those high velocity air movers. Cant seem to find them online any more but I got it in london, uk

"I'm not sure if this jacket matches my shorts." Nothing matches those dad shorts. Also, your son is a ridiculously good sport!

I like the original neck fan because it’s so versatile. The thin bendy arms are good because if you’re sitting at a table you can set it up as two small fans pointing any direction you want. Also the charge lasts a surprisingly long time.

The metal on back connects to a Peltier device, which uses electricity to create a cold side and a hot side, the plate on your neck is the cold side. Really cool stuff to learn more about.

I think the best part is the father-son bonding time
  • The Ice vest works wonders. I did insulation removal for a summer. I was in an attic for up to 8 hours a day with breaks every hour. One attic I did was at an average temp of roughly 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The first week was without the ice vest and the following week was with the ice vest. It made a world of difference. If you work in hot and confined environments. I would def recommend a cooling vest. So worth the money. Also you can just make your own for half the price.
  • @GLYCEMusic
I work in a non-air conditioned warehouse where it gets up to 100+ degrees in the summer, and I use the ice vest all the time. If you do any kind of outdoor work or other work that puts you in a hot area, I can't recommend it enough. Trust me, it's worth the high price. That's my personal recommendation as it has worked far better than any other thing I've tried.

3:43 The dog was like: "I don't know what you're doing, but I'd rather stare at this wall." - Haha JK! The ice vest looks "really cool!"
  • I like how he makes his son wear the things that didn't work for him so he has someone else wear it. Hahah that's priceless
