  • Clickbait warning!! Michael Anthony explains NOTHING! It’s just some dude talking. These videos should not be allowed to have them titles. Shame. Figure out a better way man.
  • Notice absolutely NO songs of Cherone fronting Van Halen gets ANY Radio Play🤨
  • The problem wasn't Gary, it was a hastily written album to compete with Sammy's Marching to Mars which was pretty good. I think a well conceived follow up would have worked.

I dont get the trashing either ,there is some killer stuff on there

I hope Michael finds those tapes - I’d love to hear some more from VH with Gary, and VHIII needs a full remix and rerelease too!

Gary was a good singer but a bad fit. IMHO I believe the brothers thought it would be easy to replace the lead singer because they did it successfully before.
  • I saw them with Cherone. It was weird. He was trying so hard to make it work. His stage mannerisms were awkward given the VH repertoire. I think if he would have calmed himself down and focussed on the music rather than the antics it may have worked. At least he sang the songs unlike Roth. If Roth just could sing live VH would have been spectacular.

Put William Hung on vocals and I’d listen. It was about King Edward for me.

When Ed made Gary dye his hair blonde I thought, here we go. 😂😂😂
  • I really liked Gary in VH! Ed's creativity was in my opinion was the highest!

I think they would have hit their stride with Gary given a second album. Huge Extreme fan and saw VH on this tour and Gary was killer. Fire in the hole, Dirty water dog, some really good stuff on VH3. I thought it lacked the classic harmonies with Michael. The production seemed way different and wonder if Ted would have produced it how much better it would have been .

Ray Danniels may not have worked out for Sammy, but he was great with Rush and they had a great relationship with him from everything that I have ever heard.

Often wonder who else could have come in as vocalist.

Technically, Gary Cherone was the best of the VH vocalists. He just wasn't a fit for the band. Sammy is a great vocalist as well. Dave is not a great singer. In fact, he's a marginal, but he was the best fit for VH and put them on the map. Additionally, if Dave would have remained after 1984, they would not have had the longevity they had. His voice was shot long before the brothers were tired of Sammy. His vocals on A Different Kind of Truth were painful. Nobody ever mentions how that album sold 30% less than VHIII and is the only VH album not to sell more than 1M worldwide.
  • Why Can’t Ted Nugent Kid Rock Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony Put a Band Together So Everyone Can Live Happily Ever After…..!

Gary is an amazing performer and I saw him with extreme ! Gary is amazing ! He had to join at the cross currents of Sammy and Dave and the toxicity of Eddie’s downfall and insanity ! If you hear the interviews Eddie trashed Dave and Sammy , all possible animosity aside dissent Michael was unforgivable ! And cements their corruption
