Brazilian manufacturer Embraer is the world’s third-largest producer of civil aircraft. In other words, it is the best of the rest when it comes to manufacturers from outside the industry-dominating Airbus-Boeing duopoly. To date, it has delivered more than 8,000 aircraft with more than half a century of manufacturing history. But where exactly does it build them?

As a Portuguese, I'm always proud to see any Portuguese-language based company thrive. Never had the luck of flying on an Embraer, but would love to

I have been working as an engineering intern at Embraer since April. Due to the pandemic, I work from home, but I had the opportunity to get to know the facilities of São José dos Campos. As an engineering student and aviation enthusiast it was a fantastic experience.
  • Living in Brazil I have hd the opportunity to travel in all commercial aircraft manufactured by Embraer, starting with the EMB110, EMB120, ERJ135, ERJ145, ERJ190 and ERJ195. And also, once, I visited the Gaviao Peixoto unit. Impressive!

The E2 without a doubt. Lovely looking aircraft.

I love seeing people try to pronounce Portuguese words as a Brazilian. The narrator said José in a Spanish pronunciation so many times that it was really cute. (In Portuguese, J is pronounced like the S in "pleasure").

I tried to get to study at ITA, a university attached to the Embraer manufacturing campus. I got a chance to visit the runway back in the days when the Embraer 170 was just recently launched. When I was visiting thr campus, I stood by the runway and witnessed a E-170 prototype taking off as a ERJ-145 chased it flying along the runway. It was really cool to see that.

I have been a passenger in E175 and absolutely loved it. I would appreciate more such content.

As a brazilian, I'm impressed to know that Embraer also has units in USA and Portugal

It would be really nice if you guys also posts an article about the fleets of major cargo airlines 😄

I have flown in the Banderante, EMB 120,140,145, E170 and E175. Not in Brazil but in the US and Europe. I have also visited the factory in Sao Jose dos Campos on 5 occasions. The design and quality of the E 170,175 family is impressive and found the engineers to be as good if not better than those at Boeing or Airbus. I hope they succeed going forward, they deserve it.

ERJ195. This was the first aircraft I every flew on when I started my career as cabin crew. I worked for the now defunct FlyBE, the international launch customer of the type. G-FBEN was was my favourite 😍

I live 15 minutes from Melbourne Int'l and had no idea Embraer has a production facility at that airport. Neat.
  • @RodMXavier97
I’ve lived in Sao Jose for almost 2 decades and visited the production sites a few times as my parents used to be engeneers at Embraer. This company is the proud of SJC.
  • @ZRHTrainspotter
I often pass at São José dos Campos with car. I am always happy to see the airport with Embraer manufacturing plant 😃
  • Embraer has a name and reputation in aviation that is really hard to achieve.

The E175 is my favorite single aisle. I'll take it over the 737s and 320s any day! I haven't had the pleasure of being on an E195 yet.
  • I’ve flown on two Delta Connections E175s, and my favorite Embraer is the E195-E2. 🇧🇷
  • Wao...!! Bravo Embraer...! Keep it up and may God continue to bless you.....
