I want to give everyone some information on the cost of living here in Da Nang. In this video I will specifically be giving you a tour of my studio apartment here and explaining how much I pay to live here.

If you want to separate video on how much food, transportation, entertainment, and other costs are for living then let me know in the comment section down below and I will drop a video on it.

Stop comparing prices to Florida. Compare prices to local market. You're getting ripped off.

Men my apartment in Da Nang is more huge the location is amazing and it costs 193 usd per month. You pay pretty too much money! I also walk 15 minutes to the beach. You got overpriced

Interesting video Tyler! $500 does seem a bit high but I'm basing that on other Youtubes I've watched. I hope you'll share more info on housing costs if you learn more about this.

Once you find a place, it would be wise to then check out the night life around the studio. I would hate to get a place to then find out at night it's all loud noise outside. Check the surroundings during the weekdays and the weekends. Just my opinion since loud noise at night would drive me crazy.

For all furnished place located into walk distance from a beach. I’d have to pay around 1000-15000 here in Colombia. 500 is awesome
  • Great vid. Couple of questions though, what was the internet speed? Fiber optic?

Hey Tyler. I am from Orlando too. Near the Millenia Mall... I am right now in Philippines but DaNang is in my list. I visited there last year. Went to Hoi Ann, to the bridge up there in the sky, saw the Dragon spit fire.... I wish you the best of everything there. Keep in touch because I may be there this year.

Great to see your video. I am thinking about DA NANG as a retirement location or at least somewhere to spend alot of time, especially at the beach, assuming I can find a place where the water is clean.. I have researched rental prices in Pattaya and in five seconds of watching your video I guessed $500 as the rental. Just about the same as Pattaya. I have questions about medical insurance, insurance requirements generally, things one has to consider in Thailand. How is visa renewal.....I see now that you have another video and mayb some of my questions will be answered.
  • Thank you for sharing! How is the isolation? Do you hear your upstairs neighbors walking/slamming doors etc.?

Đà Nẵng is a nice place to live. Did it myself for a couple of years not that long ago. Once you get in with the expat community you should be able to find a place to live that costs a bit less. Phường Mỹ An is a good place to live but IMO too many expats and by extension too much drama. I lived in Phường Phước Mỹ where there were fewer expats. Lots of Koreans meaning the area has some good Korean restaurants. BTW how's the visa situation now? Are they back to issuing US citizens one year visas with 90 day stays? Also Thailand and Hong Kong are good places for a visa run but you can also do one in a day by making a run to Lao Bảo if you need to. For my visa runs I used to go to Thailand for a week, spending it at the Thai Plum Village International Practice Center, Pong Ta Long, Pak Chong District, for a week of meditation. $20 USD p/n all included. Quite nice. Enjoy the adventure.

That price is about right for an Airbnb, but if you were renting that place, it'd be about $200 a month. Based on your window view, it looks like you live on the airport/city side of river. If you move to the other side of the bridge (the ocean side / head of the dragon bridge side) the deals are better. I live in Son Tra, but a lot of expats live in An Thuong. I recommend visiting the latter

Airbnb is expensive. If you book for a month the fees are pretty high. I understand that you booked with them, but there is a way how you can catch the private number of the owner. I think it's better that the locals get the money and not the owners in the US. Another option is that you just take a look to the homestays. The prices on AirBnb and on booking are the foreign prices. You even can get it cheaper.

Hi Tyler, just discovered your channel. I plan to scope out Da Nang for possible Retirement place! Plan to go there for a month.Do you know where I can rent a furnished apartment (2 bedrooms & kitchen) in a quiet area…not too expensive? Please HELP. If you use a Realtor to do that, can you recommend one??

If you ever considered Thailand before moving to Vietnam, can you elaborate the reasons why you choose Vietnam over Thailand ?
  • @alwansky57
You could get it for 300$ if you didn't use RB&B
  • @georgeandy6923
I'd like to see you do something on transportation and getting around. Is leasing a Motorbike or Vehicle a not too expensive option? How is it driving over there, etc.??
