I also have it, I bought it in 2014. It is an excellent camera and today I still use it for my clients. When I bought it, the engineer from Sony Spain told me that it is a camera that thanks to its sensor will remain in force until the 1920x1080 definition dies. And it is true because today it works very well as a camera b in productions with A7 III, A7S, FS5 and FS7. In the next year 2020 I will update my equipment to a superior camera but I am sure that the FS100 will continue working. Thanks for the video, greetings from Spain.
  • Nice footage. I just on Instagram this morning and liked a lantern post. Only to see the same video clip here. Had to check really quick and it was you. Good work man.

I got the FS100 as soon as it came out, the full frame and interchangeable lens got me.. and use it even now with some amazing results

This video made me sub I liked how you talked at the beginning with B roll at the end...and other things but I'm too lazy to write it all out lol

I was looking for a low cost Cinecam, looks like this is it 👍Thanks for the video.

    Enjoyed learning about this camera.

Great review! Where I can buy it on line? Thanks

One of these is still very tempting today, I've seen these available here in the UK for less than a used A7S mk1. With no need to buy an external audio recorder it potentially becomes a really reasonably priced setup!

Wow the image at the end is not that far off even the 10 bit 444 on F3. Very nice....

Great video! I have a quick question for you. What is that silver rod sticking out by the lens mount?
  • Great review. I own two and highlightsarea problem i guess but i set the camera gamma to itu709 works great outdoor but lowlight hassome noise but during the day good with highlights. Also played arround with the knee point and slope

Still have the FS100. Bought it 2-3 years ago second hand. Last year I made the jump to 4K with the panasonic DVX200 and GH5S. I tested the FS100 against the DVX200 and I was surprised the image quality is about the same. So a 4K downsampled 1080p DVX200 is like the FS100. In low light the FS100 is a bit cleaner (I use the 18-200mm F3.5 -6.3 powerzoom lens) The lcd loupe is fantastic for people like me wearing glasses. Also having peaking when using autofocus is great to have. I use variable nd filter outside.

You're right about how the F3/FS700 sorta overshadowed the FS100 However back then the FS100 had the massive advantage of being WAAAAAAAAAAAAY CHEAPER!! But in 2019?? That price gap has almost completely disappeared. Today in 2019 the F3 is only marginally more expensive than a FS100, and the FS700 is only a few hundreds of dollars more. (and the FS5 is trending towards $2K ish on eBay as well) Makes it very tough to justify buying the FS100 in 2019! Even if you're only a casual semi professional
  • This is still an excellent camera. I know TV stiods that are still filming in HD. Especially at concerts. I have them and various others (including 4K). If you know it, you can make awesome movies.
  • Thanx for this review. Actually I´m shooting documentaries with my Panasonic dslms, but as a tv journalist I also shoot a lot for tv stations. Since I need an absolutely reliable and all-in-one (audio AND video) camera for reports on location, I bought the fs100e. 1080p is enough for that purpose and the fs100e delivers still perfect image quality. Great cam. Bought mine in "as new" shape for about 600 Euros. Unbeatable!
