Here's why the 2008 Acura TSX is the driver's 4-door bargain.

Want to go "fast", carry four friends, but don't like hanging out in German repair shops? Then the Acura TSX (AKA Accord R) might be right for you. Sold elsewhere as the Honda Accord R, the TSX was Acura's entry-level sedan after they phased out the Integra. It also served as a replacement for the RSX, which had 2 doors, which is different than the TSX...because it has 4....Moving on. From 2008-2013, this was the smallest car Acura sold EXCEPT for the CSX, which was only sold in Canada.

Four Doors and Double Wishbone. I miss the Honda that did stuff like this.

I feel like you guys dropped the ball by not talking about the engine. The k24a2 is unique because it was one of the only Honda engines at the time that had i-VTEC on both intake and output valves. Virtually every other Honda had it only on the intake. Because the TSX could breathe more, it was more sought-after for track use. The suspension on the car is fantastic and they even added front and rear sway bars. The gear-shifting is one of the best of that era. Overall, the design was dead-simple and clean, a look that Japan will probably never make again. The rear tail lights are fantastic and the side skirts added for 06 were a great addition.

I feel like they left one of the most important topics of this car out of the conversation for the most part. The K24A2 ENGINE and how much potential it has whether going NA or FI!!!
  • Two years ago, walked into a used car lot and bought a clean title 2008 TSX with Nav and 150,000 miles for $4,995. Car was super clean, all highway miles. Only wear on the car was rock chips on the front bumper. Haven’t had a single issue 15,000 miles into my ownership. Came from an 02 RSX-S, which had 185,000 when I sold it. Can’t argue with Honda/Acura reliability.

In Australia, this is the Honda Accord Euro. I have the 2006 model. I love the styling and it's a really reliable car.

I got 06 TSX 123000 miles on with one owner for $2000! I love this car

My TSX is at 220000 miles and still going strong! Great all around car that’s fun to drive
  • I have a 2006 Honda Accord Euro Luxury (Australia) and it is by far the best car I have ever owned. (Admittedly, most of my previous cars have been rubbish.) Everything works, it still looks fresh and modern, it comes fully loaded, I work on it myself, and parts and spares are cheap and plentiful. A great car!

It’s now 2021. I bought my TSX of of this video and many others like it! I got my TSX with 104k miles, babied, all service records, zero rust and one tiny scratch. $4k. My plans are simple. Beefed up sways, coil overs, front lip and wheels/tires. Cannot wait to dig into mine. Great video!!

This is one of the last cars with low budget reward. I love how the interior is clean and easy to locate the button you want, not obnoxious and distracting. IMHO the TL is a fantastic car but too large for my taste..

Talks about his "heated" seats.. and yet he ripped it out and replaced it with a bucket.. nice.

I love my 2007 TSX auto (I wish it was a 6-speed). Installed an Injen CAI and got a flash pro tune on it. My favorite daily driver that I've ever owned, it's fantastic.
  • been driving an 04 tsx six speed for about a year now. Its awesome. Luxury, practical, and sport and fun.
  • @myownsite
Ahem, shut about this car, I'm looking to buy one and don't need a youtube price premium. :D
  • I've had my 08 for 4 years now. Its a very good looking and reliable car.
  • @JEdmund81
Appreciate the love for the gen-1 TSX! I always wanted one when they came out and finally got one in 2015 (at 10 years old!). But I really like the car and enjoy it. The interior is fantastic.
  • Was waiting for a TSX review. Here in Europe I have this car, but it's an '06 2.2 I-CTDI diesel. Yes. A Honda diesel. Honda's first ever diesel, in fact (N22A engine code if anyone is interested). Its modfied, so has 212HP and 440Nm of torque. Stock it's at 140HP and like 340Nm And, it's a six-speed manual. It's also a wagon. But, basically looks like this. While 212 and 440 might not sound like a lot, the thing really shifts. And, on our smaller roads, it really does feel like it's moving. In sixth gear on the highway, it really does pull and overtaking is the easiest. With the modifications and all, it puts a lot of surprise into drivers of hot hatches and larger engined cars. The diesel engine really helps because that torque means it really doesn't struggle with the mass, and it's reliable as hell. It has 190k miles and runs like a clock, as mentioned in the video. And I love the fact the interior isn't THAT dated. And as the owner of this TSX mentioned, totally different interior.
