A BBC local radio broadcaster had a bit of a rant on her last day at work and the BBC cut it and edited it from catch up as well. She put it on twitter though so let’s have a listen

This shouldn't be controversial and it was hardly a rant! The fact that it was censored speaks volumes about the BBC.
  • @si002
They wouldn't need to cut it if they didn't pay people like Gary Lineker so much.
  • @EdWittering
This is NOT rant, it’s a well articulated and thoughtful monologue.
  • Sophie Little seems to have her heart in the right place, and a person of integrity. No wonder the BBC is getting rid of her.

I didn’t think it was a rant. It was polite, honest and to the point.

She didn't insult anyone . . . cared about her job and her audience. Nice lady

"Goes against the grain of all the training I've received over 15 years" is the key phrase for me. I've always wondered about the "lying by omission" that is pervasive in the BBC and now I know that they knock it out of them, the drive to tell the full story not the sanitised out of historical context version that meets the establishments requirements. Well done to her for giving us this insight!

This wasn't a rant, this was a plea and she said it in such an eloquent way too. The BBC don't deserve her.

How can the bbc act like a private company yet be classified as a public broadcasting company
  • @CharlieMac53
Well done Sophie! If more people had the guts to speak out as you have, the BBC and the country as a whole, would not be in the state it's in. Thank you.

A great loss to BBC radio for sure. Sophie came over most dignified to me. I hope someone who holds a senior position in commercial radio hears what this delightful radio presenter has to say about the BBC’s ruthless cuts to local radio and offers her a deserving job in radio. The best of luck for the future Sophie if you happen to see this ❤

    Typical BBC. Well said Sophie.

A BBC presenter with integrity, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Well done Sophie, well done for standing up. I often ask people what they will do to make society better for my son, and you have gone beyond what I expect. I am behind you

Good for her. Not a rant. A concise presentation of facts impacting the lives of British citizens. I repeat. Good for her. We need more like her.
  • @Eidolonian
She spoke honestly and fairly. Shame the bbc feel they have to censor this stuff.
  • @pippaneil4632
Integrity and the BBC. Don't belong in the same sentence.
  • @jaysmith6327
Good for her she sounds like someone I'd like to hear and see more of... Her integrity and strength gives me hope we can get back what was taken from us....
  • As many people have said: "This was not a rant." Sadly she dared to criticise the BBC and expose them. No one criticises the BBC. Not ever. You don't criticise them for being racist, sexist or ageist. If you do than the BBC has ways of dealing with you....
